Papazian Tailoring & Alterations

I’ve been to a handful of tailors in the Middlesex area and have not found anyone as good as Greg. Not only is he better than all the other tailors but his prices are more competitive and his turnaround time is INSANE. Tailored my suit pants in a day. Tailored my dads suit in less than a day. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER TAILOR. I have searched for a couple years and have not found anyone who comes close to Greg.

I am a long-​standing customer of Papazian Tailoring and have been very pleased with all his work, from prom dresses to jeans and everything in between. He is always pleasant, conscientious, meticulous and timely. He gives great advice and suggestions and will bend over backwards for his customers.

A beacon of shining light in my time of need! I came to Greg 100% last minute for a dress I needed for a performance IMMEDIATELY! He is such an easy person to work with, so accommodating and had my dress to perfection, and I mean, perfection, when ready for pick up. Could not be happier with this service. Completely reasonable for price!

If you need anything tailored, Greg is the guy to see. It’s no accident that he gets 5 stars all day, every day. He managed to turn a total turd of a suit into a custom fit, attention getter. Not sure how, but then again that’s why I’m not in this line of work. He’s also done some great work for the misses too.

I discovered Papazian while driving by his storefront every day to work. After watching too many make over shows about how to buy proper sized clothes and then have the ‘issue spots’ fixed by a tailor, I decided to give it a try. I was tired of ill fitting clothes made for the masses that made me feel frumpy, stuffed and unattractive. ;) I started with a pair of pants that fit the thighs, but was big in the waist. This one alteration on a simple pair of pants CHANGED MY LIFE! Proper fitting clothes REALLY DO make you feel like a million bucks!
Greg’s work was far more professional that I had expected given my history with ‘dry cleaner tailors’ I used in the past. He had a quick turn around, about a week. I was so excited with the result, the next visit, I dropped off *5 pairs* of pants to have similar work done and again, just flawless. The work was so clean, it was like he hadn’t done anything. Greg was a keeper! I’ve since brought other random items to him and was surprised when he gave his honest opinion on whether or not something was ‘worth it’ to alter. Being able to say no to a customer goes a LONG way in my book. It proves he is not just trying to make money by altering any piece of polyester that comes through that door. He truly believes in the craftsmanship of his work and that is the sign of a professional and a gentleman. The last item I brought to him recently was a polka dot dress I just HAD TO HAVE, but it fit wrong once I went up to a size that fit my trouble spots. In the dressing room, I said to myself, SELF: I bet Greg can make MAGIC with this dress by just altering a few spots. A week and a half later and an astonishingly affordable bill for the work… MAGIC. I got so many compliments on the dress that day, it just solidified how having a great tailor in your back pocket can change everything.
Ladies, we aren’t all runway models that all the brands mass manufacture clothing for, but with a professional like Greg in your arsenal to nip and tuck your favorite pieces here and there, you sure can feel like one!

I feel compelled to add my voice to the positives here. I have brought everything from hideous bridesmaid’s dresses, suit alterations, tailored pants, kids’ clothes and even a shower curtain to Greg and he always gives me his straightforward opinion on what’s possible («making that dress fit properly would cost more than it’s worth, I wouldn’t do it»), what’s reasonable and what makes the most sense.
His work is fantastic and I trust him because of the work that he’s done and for the work that he’s refused because the result wouldn’t be right or would be too expensive. He’s also a real gentleman and more devoted to his customers than we deserve. I’ve been in the store during prom season and have watched him take on last-​minute alterations that he KNEW would take him all night to get done in time for the dance. And he does it all with a smile.

I took my wedding suit, another suit and some pants that I liked but had (*sigh*) grown out of to Mr. Papazian. He was an absolute delight to work with, made solid recommendations for what I should and should not get done, and did a fantastic job with the alterations. I am extremely happy with his work and would definitely go back on that basis alone, but he was also so friendly that I now feel like I have a friend in the tailoring business!

My husband and I are very greatful for Greg’s services. My husband trusts only Greg to tailor his clothes and will pass up on free tailoring offered when he purchases a suit. Greg is courtious, skilled and completes the work when he says he will.

I hate writing a negative review, but this was one of the worst experiences I have EVER had getting a bridesmaid’s dress altered. While his turnaround was quick, the work was awful and was not complete on time.
I was told that I would receive a phone call when my dress was ready because I was on a tight timeline. He had no problem calling me to come in for a second fitting, but there was no call when the dress was done. I called him to check on the dress and he said that it was complete but he was closing in 5 minutes and would not wait another 5 minutes for me to drive over to pick it up. This was on a Thursday and created a huge problem because he is closed on Fridays, and the dress was needed for a wedding in NJ on Sunday. My husband had to skip the rehearsal dinner Friday and drive separately to the wedding just so that he could pick up my dress Saturday morning. I would’ve just chalked this up to poor planning on my part, but he was fully aware of my tight timeframe when he took the job 2.5 weeks before. I also didn’t realize they were closed on Fridays– if you need something for a weekend, plan to pick it up on Thursday.
On top of the dress not being ready on time, the alterations were TERRIBLE. The dress needed to be hemmed and taken in, from a size 2 to a 0 (as the manufacturer didn’t carry size 0.) The hem was too short and my dress was literally falling off of me the entire wedding. It was extremely embarrassing to keep pulling up my strapless dress, and I couldn’t dance during the wedding because the top kept falling down. I even wore «cutlets» under my strapless bra to help hold the top up, to no avail. The ultimate embarassment was during the bridal party slowdance-​the top of the dress fell so low that you could see both my bra and «cutlets» and the photographer caught it on camera :-(
I went in for 2 fittings and it is impossible that I lost weight from the time of the fittings to the wedding. He eyeballed the amount that needed to be taken in and clearly it was not enough. I might as well have left the dress as a size 2 and saved the $ 92 that I spent getting it taken in. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Papazian, and I would not recommend their services to anyone. There are other tailors on Great Road that charge less and do a much better job.

I have been to a quite a few tailors, and he is the best one in the area! I cannot say enough about the quality of his work. This in addition to having very reasonable prices and a quick turn around time.

He does fantastic work for a great price, and if you’re in a hurry, he can get it done for you. I’ve had him do suits, hems, and even a bridesmaid dress. His prices seem to have gone up a bit, but he’s still cheaper than others around I think.

This guy is fantastic! I’ve brought in everything from pants to bridesmaids dresses, needing a different type of alteration each time, and it always comes out perfectly! With competitive pricing (cash only!), he goes above and beyond to talk to you and make sure your clothes will look and fit fabulously!
