Is this really a Hilton property? Very old accommodations, 1990’s lamps, poorly grouted tile bathrooms. I spent 112 nights in the Hilton chain last year and this hotel is by far the most out of date. The sign should really say Days Inn.

I had the pleasure of being a guest at the hotel after my car broke down on my way home to southern Maryland. Being in a state of panic and very glad to be alive, I called this hotel and told the staff about my predicament. I knew no one in the area and I needed a safe & clean place to stay. My room was immediately reserved for me by the staff at a great rate! I was greeted by a smiling, friendly Manager on duty by the name of Cindy. She was wonderful. Cindy made me feel so welcomed, told me all about the hotel amenities and the area, then checked me into a nice, clean room. Things were finally getting better. Besides my car breaking down and having to pay $ 1000 to get it fixed, the only other negative was the cost of the only taxi in town. She charged me $ 15 to go to the Bedford Tavern for dinner and back. It was only 2 miles from the hotel. I wanted some wine on Monday and used the taxi again to go get a bottle and some dinner. That costed $ 12.45! It would have been cheaper renting a car for the day. When I mentioned this to Cindy, she asked me if I needed to go anywhere else. When I told her that I needed a ride, she volunteered to take me to the dealership to pick up my car when she got off. Cindy did just that. Cindy and the rest of the staff there turned a miserable situation into a great stay for me. They were a blessing and I am truly grateful.

Friendly, newly remodeled, and clean, this is a pretty good rendition of a Hampton. A newly remodeled fitness room with the addition of a set of weights wasn’t quite ready but will be there next time. No more complaining from me about things endemic to all Hampton Inns, such as the army base breakfasts and the prison soap. Oh, I forgot to mention the Direct TV. Far more channels than a typical Hampton. It was wonderful when waking up at 2:30 am to find Science Channel still broadcasting real TV shows, not infomercials. Being a nerd, I counted the sports channels — there were eight. Being a nerd, I didn’t watch any. But somebody likes that stuff! So the TV is awesome here. This is by far the best place to stay within many miles of Bedford!

Basic, nothing special. My bed had a ‘sweet’ spot to sleep. You know the sagging part of the bed were all the past occupants had slept creating a body crater. The exercise equipment consist of a Wal-mart quality elliptical, treadmill, and recumbent bicycle. Not great, barely functional. If I had known prior to my stay I would have looked elsewhere solely based on the fact. I did not try the pool or jacuzzi but it looked clean and inviting. Overall, there are many other hotel options, and I’m going to patronize one of them next time I’m in the area.

Stayed here July 3, 2010 and found it a modestly acceptable stay. Full of other travelers, the staff were not much help but otherwise did what they do for registration. Room was clean, but had no view worth the price paid. Stayed the one night, and then rolled on. Free breakfast was fairly basic — and the«lunchroom lady» needed a job change. I don’t think she smiled once the entire time we were there.
