Astorhurst Country Club

The previous reviewers should give Astorhurst another try. The course is in great shape now, the staff is wonderful, and it’s a great value. Another great plus is that the course drains well and is often ready to play before other area courses after a heavy rain. This course has a relaxed atmosphere, so if you’re looking for the luxury amenities of a true «country club» you’ll want to keep looking. There is variety to the terrain, a moderate number of hazards, and a lot of natural beauty in the surrounding area. Try it. You’ll like it!
(Just make sure you make a pit stop in the clubhouse restroom before hitting the links and at the turn!)

this place was awful. in terrible shape, and not a good design for a golf course. I think I payed 18 dollars for 18 and a cart and I feel like I was ripped off.
the girl at the food bar was awesome though. hooked me up with some free hot chocolate.

My mini-​tour of golf courses around Cleveland continues. After Manakiki, Gleneagles, and Shawnee Hills, I played a weekend round at Astorhurst. While Astorhurst is a step above the bottom-​level area courses (like Seneca), it’s missing a lot of the niceties that I’ve enjoyed at the previous places. The cart paths were in disrepair, and they had not cleared away the leaves from either the fairways or the greens. Also, while I recognize they are probably doing the best they can with a constrained space, you can’t help but feel a little cramped where you have tees for different holes in essentially the same spot. On the semi-​plus side, they have at least two substantially elevated tees that make any decent hit look like its going miles and miles away.
Overall, I’m certainly not opposed to golfing at Astorhurst, but it wouldn’t be near the top of my list.
