Bondi Wine and Spirits

I had a very weird experience here a couple of months back that really weirded me out here and I haven’t been able to write it down yet. My fiancé and I went into the store twice — the first time we came after work and had such a lovely experience. They had cheap, good bottles of wine and we were able to try a new favorite here. We literally had 0 issues and fell in love with the place.
The second time we went in here, it was a much different experience. We were a bit more dressed down as it was a Saturday afternoon and we didn’t work that day. We walked in as they were doing wine-​tasting (s) and no one greeted us which I thought was strange because I saw them look up at us. We waited by the wine-​tasting table as another couple tried and the person providing the sampling didn’t look us in our eyes. It was weird, the vibe was entirely different and we felt very unwanted. As we grabbed a bottle, an older white man who I presume was the manager asked me in a weirdly aggressive tone, «You guys need help with something?» and I said, «Uh. No, we’re fine. Just grabbing a bottle.» as I awkwardly looked at my fiancé. We checked out and the woman who checked us out (the same one as before) seemed very nervous and uncomfortable this time — made no eye contact, but we felt her eyes as we left the store.
My advice to this new business is to embrace the neighborhood that you profit off of and realize that regardless of appearances you should treat customers with the same respect. We won’t be returning — which is sad, because the wine really was delicious.

Cute little wine shop! Lots of different wines, as well as some spirits. They have a $ 12 section with a good amount of bottles. The others are relatively pricey, compared to other shops in the area. I’d much rather come here than the liquor store by the train though. I love the lightbulbs and set up of the this store though. It’s spacious and easy to browse everything. Prices are clearly indicated and the staff is friendly and efficient. They also have wine tastings! Great location as well.
