History
Established in 1996.
Tamarack was the vision of former governor, Gaston Caperton, whose leadership provided the impetus for the development of the Tamarack System. The facility itself is called Caperton Center (named after the Governor) and is a 81,000 + square foot building that houses a performing arts (178 seat) theater, a fine arts gallery, retail shopping, a Taste of West Virginia Food Court, and five demonstration studios. Tamarack’s conference center, can accommodate small groups or large ones of up to 500 people for meetings, education, and social gatherings. Tamarack has approximately 20,000 different items for sale — at a price range of $.05 cents to $ 17,000.00. All products are purchased through the 2,500+ juried artisans in the state of WV that we represent. The restaurant, serving both the food court and catering needs is managed by the Greenbrier Hotel, a four-star resort, located in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
