History

Established in 2005.

Stand Up Guys Junk Removal was started in Atlanta Ga. In 2005 and recently expanded operations into the Greater Portland area to bring great value and service to the West coast just as we have done for so many years in Atlanta. I relocated here to be near my children who moved her 2 years ago. It has been a real adventure so far and we hope to serve this community for years to come.

Meet the Business Owner

Jay R.

Business Owner

I was born in Harvey IL in 1974 and lived there until 1993 when I moved to the Atlanta GA to be near family and start work in the construction business. I started my own business doing interior trim and deck building in 1995 and started a home building business in 2000. I am code certified and earned my Certified Professional Home Builder Status in 2007 but unfortunately was unable to continue my dream of building houses after the 2008 housing crash. I then started my own junk hauling business because I had never worked for anyone as an employee and figured I wouldn’t be good at it. Luckily, my younger brother Casey had recently started growing his junk removal business and after competing with him from late 2008 until the end of 2012, we finally decided to join forces and bring the Stand Up Guys Junk Removal concept to a different market (where my kids now live with their mother) I now get to continue to haul junk and see my kids all the time…
