I very highly recommend Sparks Garage! I had Jon replace a completely hacked-​in keyless entry system in my Grandparent’s truck, the guy went above and beyond. Also had him install a custom switch in the dash for the doors because the previous shop neglected to installed a switch to lock/​unlock the doors from the inside. Jon is an extremely knowledgeable and honest guy. 110% satisfaction

I never write reviews but Jon is the finest most honest person in the audio car industry. He takes his time figures things out and makes sure your system runs perfectly. I bought a brand new Mercedes GLK 350– it didn’t come with a back up camera. Not only did Jon find a good deal on the camera but the installation was perfect. Truly, don’t think twice about using Sparks Garage. Absolutely awesome. I will call on Jon again when I am in need!

I called Sparks to help me figure out why the AM reception in the stereo of a car I just bought was so lousy. First had called Stereo King where it was installed, and they acted like just talking to me was a major ordeal for them. Totally different experience at Sparks Garage. Polite and helpful on the phone, brought the car there, he quickly diagnosed and fixed the problem — and didn’t even want to charge me beyond the part! I insisted as he’d spent 30 minutes at least on the car. Obviously knows his stuff on cars, but also provides good service — what a concept! Would definitely recommend and will go back if I have needs.

I had several issues with my 06 TC. In a few days they completed body work on the hatch, basic maintenance, and got my check engine light off, too! I had a little bit of everything done. Now my car runs better than it has in over a year.

You’ve done it before. You need a good/​service/​date. Okay, maybe not the last one. What’s the first thing you do? Start your search on Unilocal.In my case, for my pickup, I decided I was going to allow myself the luxury of a keyless entry. My pickup is 13 years old, and while it has power windows and locks, it did not have the keyless entry option when I bought it last summer. In recent weeks, the ignition key (which is also the door key) has been getting stuck in the door as I’ve been unlocking the rig. Not exactly a confidence inspiring experience.
Searching for «car audio» in Beaverton yields surprisingly few results. You’ve got your chain stores that have lukewarm reviews at best. I’ve dealt with those before and walked away less than impressed. The other results (run the search for yourself!), while light on content (one review, to be exact), were encouraging for both Sparks Garage and Sounds Unique. Turns out the two businesses operate out of the same facility.
After visiting their webpage, I figured I’d ask some questions about the options available for my old pickup. Using the information found on their «Contact Us» tab (
) I shot out an opening volley of generic questions. The next day I received a very detailed response from Jon (owner/​operator) outlining multiple courses of action I could consider for the pickup. To say I was impressed with his response would be an understatement. After going back and forth via email a few times narrowing down options, I settled on a keyless entry/​alarm package. Following that, I scheduled an appointment for yesterday, a Saturday (as of this writing).
His shop is just east of 185^th on Kinnaman Rd, on the north side of the road. It’s a white house with a garage in back that has a few bays. Note: if you schedule work with Jon, don’t be a dummy like me and knock on the front door of the home thinking that’s where he’ll be. The shop is behind the house, so drive on back there during regular business hours. I met with Jon and spoke briefly about how the install would go and how long it might take. Jon offered to actually drive me back to my home, which I took him up on. I really, really appreciated this. After a few hours he called to indicate the pickup was ready and the install went smooth. Then he drove BACK out to my house and picked me up. Again, greatly appreciated. We got back and he was careful to explain all the subtleties of the system in great detail. I like gadgets, so I listened (and understood most of it) intently. One other «above and beyond» situation: I had a sticky driver’s side power window button. Jon disassembled the whole thing and cleaned up all the contacts and it’s working flawlessly (for now).
Look, just trust me, my expectations were exceeded. I’ll be going back to Jon for audio work when I determine just how much or little I want to do to my pickup. If you prefer a national chain where the sales personnel couldn’t care less about you or your car for electronic equipment and accessories, by all means go ahead. If, like me, you prefer a personalized experience where the owner/​operator is GENUINELY interested in the work you’re having done, consider Sparks Garage and Sounds Unique.
