My Masterpiece Art Studio

We love the My Masterpiece Art Studio. My daughter thoroughly enjoys the couple of hours she spends here, painting, tracing and making things out of clay. I am giving this place a four star because their wifi doesn’t work. So on a day when you need to work and it’s a no school day, it’s probably not a good idea to come here.

Hosted a 4^th birthday party for my girl here and it was so much fun. all the kids thoroughly enjoyed and went wild with the colors.

Attended a kids birthday party and they looked like they had tons of fun. Creative and supportive staff. I can’t wait to hold my own 35^th birthday here.

When we moved here from Wisconsin last year I started searching for a great art class that wouldn’t break the bank. Fortunately for us we found My Masterpiece Art Studio. From our first Mini Masters we were hooked. Mini Masters is a great class for young preschools held on Friday mornings for $ 8 per class. The kids get a great lesson on a famous artist and then get to re-​create the art for themselves. The art always turns out amazing from clay, paint on canvas, wood sculptures, watercolor, and much much more. Teacher Christy is friendly and AMAZING with the kids.
They have a great selection of projects for open studio as well. We’ve made many gifts for family including ceramic coffee mugs, clay fish, and clay snake bowls.
We moved to NE Portland in July and still make the trip over for classes on Friday. I cannot fin another art studio in Portland that offers such great programs. Cheers!

During the 2012 Summer, I wanted my 8-​year old daughter to take art lessons (since she expressed interest in doing so). I searched Craigslist and did a Google and Unilocal search. My Masterpiece Art Studio had excellent reviews and was just a few mile from home.
I checked out their website and called to ask questions. All information continued to be positive, so I decided to drive down with daughter in tow. The studio is located in a business park with ample parking. The front of the studio seem small from the outside, however once you enter, you quickly see how open and roomy it actually is. The studio is sectioned off into a couple classrooms and an open area with various stations depending on what type of medium/​media you will be using. Although there are a lot of stains (paint & etc), the facility is very clean and very organized.
My daughter wanted to sign up for one of the four day art camps. Each day is a three hour session with a short break time. Cost of the camp includes all materials needed and use of an apron. (Aprons look to be washed regularly as there is a «dirty apron» basket next to the ready to use aprons.
During drop off, you sign your child in and leave a contact number. At pick up, you sign your child out.
During the four day camp my daughter chose, there were a total of six children. I’m guessing the ages ranged between six and nine years old.
My daughter had a great time and got to bring home all of her projects. (One clay project is still drying before going in to the kiln. To be picked up in a week or so.) Not only do you get to keep/​see your child’s work, you also get to see sketches of what they did in order to prepare for each project. Being the proud Daddy, I posted pictures of the finished projects (or work in progress) each day on Facebook. (Definitely something that received a lot of «Likes» and comments!)
Will we go back? Definitely. We plan to sign up for at least two or three more 4-​Day Camps. Would I recommend My Masterpiece Art Studio? Definitely! If you have a child, teen, young adult, or even big kids at heart (parents) this is a great place to check out.

Love this place! I took my nephew here today and he had so much fun! You can choose for a variety of different projects — drawing, painting, sculpting… you can purchase canvases for them to paint on as well as large sheets of heavy acrylic paper. You can rent it for parties and they hold special events. I might buy a paper for myself next time :)

What a great place to let the kids have fun be creative and make a mess. We went in there on princess/​pirate day and my 4 year old got to paint a princess crown ($ 14) and nephew painted a sword ($ 10) we picked them up 5 days later, fresh from the kiln looking beautiful.
We then purchased oversized sheets of nice thick paper ($ 4) and they went to the «paint» area. The kids pick out their paint and begin to create. They have different events all the time and we will be back.

Incredibly child friendly environment, two moms with teaching backgrounds create their dream-​an art experience center for children. They offer classes at their studio or can be hired out to work in classrooms with classes. They do parties for kids and for adults, have open studio hours, and after hours availability. Great way to discover the inner artist in you.
