The food is good — standard bar style food — burgers, fries, wings, nachos, etc. Big portion! Drinks are cheap! PBR is only $ 2 all day. Atmosphere is family friendly and sort of a locals bar. Convenient location with plenty parking space. Good spot to get a low-key drink and some decent food. Looks like a fun place to watch a game or play pool with friends.

Ok. So i have been here some years back had a blast. Walked in tonight and the Bar tender acts like the four of us don’t exist. Took 15 min standing at the bar all eyes staring dead at her for her to act like we aren’t there. For one, little girl, We all got money. And we all are here to spend it. You are to busy conversing with your regulars like we don’t matter. Last I looked at this places reviews and it ain’t so good so chances are you should be ok doing what ever possible to get us to come back. So after finally getting served, we waited for our second round of drinks, as you move to the next person talking… And talking. and oh no you weren’t headed to us nor to make drinks only to start another conversation. Oh I’m sorry. Please finish. I have all the time in the world to wait for another. Oh I’ll just go sit and wait till your ready to be a good bartender. We all work in customer service. You need to improve yourself. I’m completely disappointed.. Sorry Maguffys Pub. You my friend failed the hole in the wall test.

This is a great place for cheap, cold beer. Also great, heaping portions on the tator tots. This would be five stars if they could offer vegan corndog options.

It’s a total dive bar that is a time warp into what made bars great in the early 80s: cheap cold beer, deep fried food, 80s buttrock playing, pool tables and a circular fireplace you can sit around that is only 5 feet from the dance floor. They are what they are, and they own it like a boss.

I’ve driven by this place a thousand times and always thought I should give it a shot. Horrible decision. I’d say the service was awful, but it was actually non existent. Bar tender spent more time on her phone texting than anything else the ten minutes I sat there. Made eye contact, waived and was completely ignored, then she headed to the back. Bizarre! A few blocks down the road, The Brickyard, is on the other end of the service spectrum.

Uh. This is literally the weirdest bar. In our brief time there: — patron awkwardly attempting flirtation… before we even got inside the bar — awkward bartenders seemed like they did not know how to talk like normal people, very awkward and uncomfortable — 3 bespectacled girls who looked like they had never had a drink in their life screeching and dragging each other out the door… at 9pm — KJ made used mic to make karaōke signup announcement… her JOB… socially awkward patrons at bar SCREAMED curses at her. We were shocked and confused, the KJ said«hey guys, I can start the song over» at which we realized these guys were screaming and cursing at her for speaking over the crappy 70s background muzak song playing in the bar. «Dive» is not the right word. I love Dives. This is more. strip mall(it’s next to a Kmart, so there you go). Clearly bad-at-drinking and inappropriate clientele.

Sorry Maguffy’s, but your service must improve for me to ever go back in. Sure, it’s divey, but I can get down with that. It’s still pretty clean and comfortable. The fire pit is pretty damn cool. What I can’t get down with us rude service. So many reviews talk about the friendly service… maybe I come in on Unfriendly Day? When the bartender won’t acknowledge you, speak to you, or even make eye contact or smile, that doesn’t actually encourage me to hang out and spend money here.

The review is for the Karaōke night. 1.5 Stars. From a group of friends who are seasoned karaōke singers of many years. This Karaōke night is on Saturday. This has got to be one of the worst nights of Karaōke ever! We phoned a earlier in the eve to make sure that they were still having it. Who ever answered the phone stated that it started around 10 P.M. This was incorrect. It started at 11 P.M. The room was pretty vacant until 10:45 when a group of mid-late 20 somethings came in. The patron count grew to about about 30 – 35 people. One friendly bartender who did a good job. The one star is for her. Otherwise this place would almost bank 0 stars. The sound system was not that bad. The whole establishment has some potential if they make updates and clean and change the carpet situation. The KJ seemed not interested in making a great night and showed little professionalism as per his skill set. He brought out a set of filthy unkempt books in need of an update. No Adele, no Amy Winehouse etc. The pages were stuck together they were so sticky. He didn’t even bring out the set of books until the group of people came in. We sang one song in the beginning then it became pretty apparent to who he was catering to was the group that came in. He showed no interest in doing a professional, effective, and fair rotation. One of the patrons got to sing 6x in a row of different duets with females and male patrons. Our group of friends looked at each other and wondered what the flip was going on !!! Why is this guy getting to sing like 6x’s? Then the rotation of singers continued with those who had already taken a 2nd or 3rd turn. Our group waited and waited for a second song. Then the KJ said it was his turn to sing an announced that he didn’t care who he was pissing off by his song choice. He also announced that he was not getting paid by the venue and that you might get something if you give him tip money. Our philosophy is this– no worky no tippy. He certainly wasn’t getting any cash from us with that attitude. After that announcement we checked out and we will probably never return again. This place was dirty, the carpet smelled like urine, the tables were sticky, they ran out of red wine. So sad when there is a halfway decent Indian restaurant right next door and glow in the dark golf. We wished this place was great but it really sucked. Another reviewer mentioned that this is a locals bar only. How does one know who is a local and who is a *new local. Do they get a list from U-haul? That is no way to run a business. New locals are just potentiality new regular patrons you haven’t met yet. Learn how to run a business and karaōke night.

Guffy’s… I love this place! The patrons are friendly and before you know it, you find yourself coming in 3 days in a row because of the awesome staff and people who are there. Sure, it may be intimidating at first, seeing the line between regulars and non-regulars(trust me, I’ve been on both sides of the line). However, you’ll find yourself really enjoying the place. It’s a place where people know your name and get to know you. Great strong pours at good value and fun/relaxed/casual atmosphere!

I Love this bar. You really feel at home. Best feature is the fire in the middle of the floor that you can sit around and watch TV or do karaōke at night. Which is another bonus. The guy who heads the karaōke is a really fun person and also sings and has a great voice. I’ve always had great service from the bartenders. Especially fun on St. Patricks day.

Walked in to get a drink and watch blazer game, female bar tender did not make eye contact and did not acknowledge me, instead she was bullshitting with what appeared to be regulars, I turned around and walked out, will not go back.

This place should be named MagCrappy’s. I like dive bars, this isn’t a Dive bar it’s a Hole. I would highly recommend spend time & money elsewhere.

You’re typical dive bar type of place with TV’s. I love they have a little fire here that if you wanted to sit around you could. I think that has been mentioned before. Another great place with good drinks and very«divy» feeling. I enjoy the atmosphere and the drinks are very plentiful. The food is typical bar fare, although I have not eaten on this stop. I have eaten here on other visits and regretted. Too greasy and fat, but it has everything a bar going person could want: video poker, a juke box and a nice big area with a fire. Couldn’t ask for more. It’s tough to get in /out of at rush hour though so be careful if you’re going in at HH. Enjoy!

Friendly staff, and decent prices for beer and mixed drinks. Always have had a great time at this bar. They remembered my favorite flavors for food and drink after 2 times of being into this location. Even though I did not order a drink even close to my normal favorite the first few times I came in. The bartender remembered I liked maraschino cherries from ordering them to be added to my 7up. Even gave me a few on the side when it doesn’t come with the certain mix drink I ordered! Just cause she knew I liked them.(and at no extra charge of course)

Small bar located near Providence and busy intersection of Jenkins where locals gather to sing karaōke and drink beer. Really laid back. Pretty small so gets packed on special occasions like G33ky Karaōke. Pool table available, virtual golf game is affordable, and gambling is also an option(seen three different people win $ 50~$ 100 on slot machine… I was not so lucky(lol). I am not big fan of drinking alcohol, but this is where I like to hang out with my friends sometimes, so I order the burger which is just AMAZING. Juicy meat topped with fresh vegetables with side of fries. Great to share as they do not skimp out on quantity either. No worries about people getting into fights or becoming so intoxicated it would endanger surrounding customers. It’s relatively safe, fun environment you don’t need to hit Portland for a drink.

Way back when I first moved to Beaverton, some ten or so years ago, I used to frequent Maguffy’s for lunch. They made killer sandwiches and the fish and chips were first rate. Over the years I have been there on and off… and I will admit, with less frequency. Last night I was jonesing pretty bad for Fish and Chips, damn you Travel Channel and your Fried Food Paradise, so Mona and I headed over. I was impressed by the remodel, the place looks great and should have been busier then it was, it being Monday Night Football night and all. They were even setting up two Texas Holdem tables for their Monday Nite Poker Tournament. It did not take me long to figure out why they were so dead. We took a table close to the bar and had to listen to ten minutes of chatter between the ongoing and off going bartenders, who had their backs to the customers the entire time. I was able to grab the off going bartender as she was delivering some food to another customer to ask for a couple of menu’s and two soda’s. In return I got a look that I can only describe as shocked that I had dared to interrupt her. The menu’s were delivered about 10 minutes later along with our soda’s, both of which were flat. The menus has been greatly reduced, but the Fish and Chips were still there and according to the bartender, they were batter dipped in house. OK, sounds good, Mona ordered the Philly Cheese Steak. It took about 20 minutes to get our food, the bartender was nice enough to replace our flat ones after I pointed it out to her. She explained that«the tank was full, the guy jiggled it around some and it seems OK now.». Glad to see that bartenders take the time to learn their equipment these days. Anyway, the food was great. The fish appeared to be real cod and was done maybe just a hair too well for my taste, as were the fries. There was no malt vinegar on the table or offered, funny for a supposed Irish Pub. The Philly was stuffed full of meat, onions and cheese. Long story short, I hate it when good food is ruined by indifferent service. I am sure it would be fine place to sit and the bar and drink, but the table service seemed to be lacking. My advice to the owner would be to hire some«Professional Bartenders» and have a cocktail/bar back/waitress to handle the table crowd.

Well, they’ve got new management now, and new bartenders(a few at least), and there’s a free pool night(though suddenly I can’t remember what night it is… meh!) so it’s not as terrible as it used to be. Though, I still only go when there’s a bunch of us going after work, and even then, I think we go mainly because it’s right next door to us.
