Bethel Congregational United Chruch of Christ

I adore this church!!!
When I moved to Beaverton I was looking for a church home and this church was more than I could have hoped for. Everyone here is so warm and welcoming you will feel like you just stepped into your extended families front door. This UCC is one of the many open and affirming churches so you’ll see a nice mix of families in the pews. The people range from newborn to centurions, although there’s definitely a lot fewer minorities here– as is in Beaverton. Bethel UCC has a very informal and down to earth atmosphere, you don’t feel the need to dress up to impress anyone here, and on occasion you’ll even see people drinking coffee during the service– something that was always discouraged at my previous churches! The pastor here is phenomenal and it’s obvious that his congregation is following his example of progressive ministry to include & reach out to all kinds of people. They have many services open and free to the community from English as a second language class, classes for parents who home-​school their children, a food cupboard for anyone who needs food and various support and contacts for any persons in need. After the service every Sunday there is time in the fellowship hall where people meet and mingle while enjoying the drinks and food set out. If you’re looking for a church home I highly recommend Bethel.
