Beaverton Holiday U-Cut Tree Farm

We decided to find a new tree farm this year, something a little closer to home. I’ve seen the signs for this place for years, but figured something smack dab in the middle of town couldn’t be that great, but what the hell, we decided to check it out anyway. I was surprised — it really is a huge tree farm in the middle of a residential neighborhood, and it was great!
The farm is run by a family, their home is on the property, and they have 5 acres of trees to choose from. I was excited that they had mostly Douglas Fir trees, as that’s my favorite — I’m not into the Nobles that seem to be taking over Oregon tree farms. They’ll also shake it for free, and help you load it, while you enjoy some apple cider. The family is so friendly, greeting you at the entrance and explaining exactly what to do. $ 30 for any tree on the lot, they provide saws and plastic to kneel on — how thoughtful! It’s also flat land, no traversing some hillside with your tree!
Most of the trees this year were a bit on the smaller side, the majority around the 5 foot mark and under, and we were looking for something a bit taller, so the pickin’s were a bit slimmer for us. We did find one, but the selection is much greater if you’re looking for a smaller tree. I checked them closely and they all seemed well-​watered and healthy. I’ll bet next year they’ll have a ton of the trees just the right height. Even though we didn’t have too many to choose from at the height/​fullness we wanted, I still think this place has a lot to offer, and I’m happy we went! I’m excited to see the selection next year!

My kids wanted to cut down their own tree this year and this place was less than 5minutes from home. It was the only u-​cut farm I found in Beaverton, we went the Sunday after Thanksgiving. All the trees were $ 30 regardless of size, they provide saws and a small sheet of plastic to kneel on or they will cut it for you. They also shook the tree and tied it to my van. Some of the trees were a bit Charlie Brown-​esque but there were tons to choose from. They accept cards and were all very nice and explained how to take care of the tree. Had it for about a week now and havent had issues with fallen needles yet, the tree smells amazing. The price is slightly more than a parking lot tree but I would much rather pay an extra 5or 10 bucks to have a truly fresh tree from a local family who doesn’t use pesticides. Really the only downside I would mention is that the tree farm is grown on land past the family’s house so you have to walk through the backyard a little. We will be going back I’m sure.

These are the saddest Christmas trees I’ve ever seen. Despite diligent watering and cutting a fresh ring in the trunk right after getting it home, this mut of a tree was massively shedding needles less than a week later.
The people were very nice and tied it to my car, but they sell awful trees.
Worst $ 30 I’ve ever spent. Go anywhere else for your tree.
