I brought my mom to this facility when she was having chest pains. This place was way under staffed. There were patients lined up in the hall way. The nurses got in no real hurry to answer questions or even acted like they cared. After 5 hrs we were told she was going to be admitted. We waited 5 more hours and still no room. I inquired at the nurses station about the wait. I was told that we were still waiting on rooms because they were under staffed. She told me they had people wait two days in the ER before getting a room! Another example of a health care facility cutting back at the expense of patient care.

This place should be SHUT DOWN! It’s an absolute hell hole. My father was a patient here and we are lucky he got out alive. The staff could care less about the patients. They are more interested in breaks and playing on their phones. I would not drop my worst enemy off at this dump. My advice is avoid this place at all cost.

Christus St. Elizabeth gets a negative reputation and I feel its undeserving. In Southeast Texas, we don’t have a lot of options for medical care and even less for emergency care. Understanding that, and the fact that this hospital is over worked and under staffed (like most) brings about problems that are difficult to overcome. Despite this I have never had a negative experience and others I know have agreed as well. Nevertheless if you need medical attention, I’m sure any hospital will do, and if you check Unilocal to choose, then most likely you can walk it off.

Two months ago I was scheduled to have surgery and my doctor cancelled on me right before I was to go under. Anyway, have been trying to get my money back for 2 months now and still having problems getting it back. They ask for you to pay three days prior so that if something happens they already have your money. For anyone who is reading this, give them as little as possible because if something comes up they don’t want to give You back your money. Learned my lesson!

I am extremely disappointed with this hospital. I went to their ER last Wednesday & the staff from their reception area, to the triage nurses to the doctors were extremely uncaring. To see this attitude from health care workers & be treated just as another number was a shock to me. Their mission is to «extend the healing ministry of Jesus Christ» & one of their beliefs «Service in a spirit of empathy, love, and concern» was nowhere felt & found. This culture amongst staff is only an extension of their managers. Working in health care is not merely having a job to get a paycheck but in living a purpose of service.

Ive never been in a hospital and felt clean and this one is the same. The only reason I would go here is either to visit someone or if I had to visit the emergency room. If i needed surgery i would elect to have it at Baptist or suck it up and make the drive to Houston.

I would choose Baptist Hospital any day over this place. Inconsistant across the board.
