Stayed here for 2 nights in early August. One of the best beachfront motels ever!!! It’s not about being chic and fancy like beachfront hotels in South Beach, Miami, but cozy, comfy, cute, little motel that is literally just steps from the beach! It is located at the end of Long Beach Blvd, very quite!!! I absolutely loved falling asleep each night while listening to the sound of the ocean. I am a city girl and really needed this quite, peaceful getaway far away from the concrete jungle. I cannot get enough of it!!! And with the well maintained rooftop with chairs and loungers, I was able to enjoy the smell, view, sound of ocean entirely! The room was clean, GREATOCEANVIEW(room#2), quite, small but enough space for 2. The staff was friendly too. Definitely coming back here!!!

Jolly Roger is really cool. What a find! We wanted to stay somewhere quiet and as far away off the beaten track as possible(if possible at all on the LBI), and we found it. Small and charming, with a bed-and-breakfast feel and the sweetest owner Judy who was always there for us. Coffee and pastries were available for breakfast, but we ventured outside for all our meals — there is no shortage of places with great breakfast service and the most amazing seafood lunches and dinners. The room was very clean and light — with everything you might need — refrigerator, a TV with a lot of channels. The hotel has a rooftop that was my favorite place to hang out and sometimes watch the sunsets. We stayed at this hotel for five days this August. We are definitely coming back.

What a great find! We stayed here just for an overnight getaway and loved it. Our room was quaint and clean. We had our own private screened in porch. We especially enjoyed the views from the rooftop deck which was a great place to have morning coffee and look out at the ocean. Beach badges were provided for us and you can’t get much closer to the beach than here. We liked how quiet this end of the island is and how close it is to Beach Haven. If you don’t want to drive you can take the free shuttle(during peak season) anywhere on the island. Just make sure you get the last one back around 10PM or you end up walking like we did. However, the walk was pleasant and doable. We also enjoyed riding our bikes into Beach Haven for breakfast. We appreciated the hot coffee and delicious crumb cake that was served in the morning. Judy was very helpful in helping us decide where to go out for dinner. We look forward to coming back again… perhaps for the LBI wine fest next spring!

My friend and I just got back from our stay at the Jolly Roger and are already trying to decide on which weekend we will return next summer. It’s a small place located ALL the way at the southern end of LBI, so it’s pretty quiet. Not only is it located right across the street from the beach, but the rooftop deck allows for a beautiful view if you want to avoid the sand or people. Each room has a private balcony or area to sit outside. The owners were great too. They were very helpful about places to go on the island and overall very friendly. Also, there is a deli next door for added convenience.

We just spent a lovely weekend at the Jolly Roger. It was our first time visiting LBI, and as our weekend took us up and down the island I don’t think we could have picked a better spot. Judy, the proprietor, gave us great tips for places to check out on the island, and the staff’s hospitality during our stay definitely felt more«B and B» than«motel.» The motel is located right across from the beach, which in turn is connected to land reserved as a bird sanctuary. A few blocks in the other direction and you can watch the sun set on the bay side. Next door is a deli with great breakfast sandwiches. A short drive gets you to Beach Haven, with plenty of stores and restaurants. There are plenty of nooks around the building to sit with a beer or coffee, but my favorite was the large roof deck in the morning. Our room was cute and clean, quiet, and had a microwave and mini fridge. Coffee and excellent crumb cake in the lobby in the morning. Will definitely return.

I can say this hotel’s customer service is incredible. I called them at midnight on a friday in the summer to get a last minute room for an employee who had been stuck working a wedding until very late. He had a 2 hour drive home and was exhausted. Amy, the manager, informed me that she had one room but it wasn’t made up. I asked if she might consider making it up – which she graciously did, at 12:45 at night, and even left a nice note for my overtired, overworked employee. He felt so welcomed and I felt like there really are nice people out there(every other motel in Beach Haven rudely told me NO! and hung up at midnight.) I would rather patronize an establishment runby good people, and this hotel clearly is. My employee said the hotel was very nice, and they had coffee and donuts for him in the morning. Win!
