History

Established in 2010.

The origins of West Indies Grocery started as a result of a specific need within the Caribbean community. The need derives from a fundamental place of belonging within our hearts. Knowing this, WI fulfills a portion of that need by making available a missing link within the community. WI is dedicated to our customers! To bridge the gap, WI provide that link by making available a wide variety of imported grocery and produce items from the Caribbean, Asia, and India.

Business Owner

West Indies Grocery was started based on a need seen in the community. To add a personal touch, my wife and I elected to bring WIG to life to foster community awareness and closeness. Our dream is, our two children must be brought up with tradition and culture from «back home» and this was the motivational factor for investing in West Indies Grocery. This way our children can share in the rich Caribbean culture my wife and I grew up with. Thus far, we have introduced them to several music genre such as energetic soca and evolving chutney, not to mention traditional reggae. The learning process continues to expand to the food arena where items such as dhal puri, curry meats, ginger tea, and on the Pharma-Aid front, limacol are household names.

Our enthusiasm for our customers are limitless as we learn new traditions and cultures from all the surrounding islands and countries of the Caribbean, India, China, Japan and Korea (all of which links to the rich culture of the Caribbean).
