Timothy P.

Business Owner

Dr. Planty grew up in Syracuse, New York and graduated from St. Vincent de Paul High School and attended college before being drafted into the U.S. Army in 1970. While in the military he received training as an optician and gained valuable experience as an optometric assistant and with fitting, dispensing and fabricating eyeglasses. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, he pursued his certification as a Certified Optician and later as a Master Optician. He then attended the University of Houston’s College of Optometry and received both a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Optometry degree.

His primary area of interests are fitting difficult contact lens cases such as toric contacts for astigmatism, bifocal contact lenses for presbyopia, medically necessary contacts for kerataconus.

In 1996, he founded and coaches a baseball team, the Baytown Knights, that travels the state showcasing talented, local high school players to college coaches, trying to get them scholarships.
