Mercedes Driving School

The school was recommended by a friend, who took lessons there and got her license about a decade ago. She was not overly enthusiastic, but the price seemed right and even the place is very far from where I live, I decided to give it a try.
My first instructor was George, a religious fanatic, who kept compiling the saints lists during the lesson.
The second one was Adrienne, who literary talked to me for 40 minutes in a parked car during the double (90 min) lesson, and told me that the lesson was over after 75 minutes, effectively robbing me 15 minutes of driving. I literary did only one U-​turn and a couple of turns during the whole double lesson, and it was over.
And it was not the worst that happened. I had a package with 5 hour class, 10 lessons, and test scheduling with the car. When I called the office and asked them to schedule a driving test for me, they told me that everything was booked in advance, and the DMV has not released the new test dates (whatever it means) — the 1^st lie.
I asked to take the 5 hour, and they told me that I could not take the class unless the test was scheduled — the 2^nd lie. In fact you cannot schedule the test unless you have already taken 5 hour class.
They told me that they would call me once the test dates became available — the 3^rd lie — they never called me back. Every 2 – 3 weeks for a couple of months I kept calling the office, and every time got the same exact response from them as before — DMV has not released the test dates. Then I tried to schedule the test myself online, and in that area I found 5+ options available within a week. When I called the office and confronted them, they told me that probably someone cancelled the test at the exact time I was searching, and that is why I found the available options!
I DO NOT recommend this school. I would have given them 0 star if I could. Not only they have really bad instructors, they are dishonest crooks who lie to your face.

I took the road test with them twice. The first time I took some lessons with George, he was a good instructor and will make sure you’re paying attention (he’ll ask you to turn onto one way streets to see if you’re awake), but his car is really sensitive and not the easiest car to drive. After I failed my first road test I took lessons again with Adrian, she was great and her car was much easier to drive. Her style of teaching was a bit different than George and I liked it a bit better, but I can’t really describe why. I think I felt a bit calmer when driving with her.
If you want to take lessons with them and buy a package, I recommend using your first 2 or 3 lessons on different instructors just so you can get a feel of what their cars are like and what their teaching style is like. You don’t want to blow your whole package on an instructor (or car) that you aren’t too crazy about. Also make sure to schedule your road test with your instructor (or that you know who you’re taking it with), the school can give you a different instructor/​car and not tell you as long as they still have you taking it with someone.

Extremely low rating for this school. If I could give a 0 I would. I’ve had so many problems with them from the moment I’ve started. Unreliable service, have scheduled two lessons with them and they’ve gotten my address wrong so they ended up not showing up TWICE, one driver doesn’t carry a phone with him to contact you when he arrives so he left when he thought I wasn’t home and came back giving me only 25 mins. of a lesson NOT 45 mins, and scheduling a road test with them was unbelievably terrible. Long waits for no reason. I don’t recommend coming here.

Everything worked out perfectly fine, made a 5 hour driving lesson appointment, and i can call to schedule my hours any time. Driver was always outside my house waiting for me on time and even earlier. The instructor (George) was very friendly and strict at the same time. He tricked me a couple of times on one ways: P. Taught me a lot and so i passed my road test in 5 minutes. I suppose the only problem is their office location, it looks run down but don’t let that fool you, its a perfectly fine business.

I happened to hear for the Mercedes Driving School from neighbors and friends and decided to give them a call. My first impression for them came from the customer service rep who was helpful and clear in giving me the required substantiated advice. She was well informed and knew her business well. To make things short, I visited them and before I knew it, I had my driving license in my hands. The instructors are very good professionals and very informative from day one of the lessons.
With highly qualified instructors, you are guaranteed to increase your driving skills and save you money on your insurance rates. Full service defensive driving school certified by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles..

I come from a small suburban town, so when I decided that I wanted to start driving in the city, I thought I should take a refreshers course to better prepare myself for the higher stress driving environment. I looked into Mercedes Driving School after a recommendation from a friend. After one day at the school, I knew I made the right choice. I learned a variety of new driving techniques and I saw a significant marked improved in my driving and city driving confidence by the end of the lessons. Thanks MDS!

I’ve always been too scare drive especially in the city. But would have to thank the instructor for slowly guiding me through this and make this experience much more enjoyable and fun for me. Mercedes Driving School made the whole «getting your driving license» procedure very easy. They were clear from the beginning of what the steps are. The communication and assistance from instructors were impressive and when I was tested I passed with flying colors!

As an international student I was scouring the city to find a reputable driving school to assist me in acquiring my DL. I happened to stumble upon MDS and decided to give them a call. To my surprise the customer service rep was helpful and clear in giving me the required advice. She was well informed and knew her business well. To make things short, I visited them and before I knew it, I had my driving license in my hands. Those guys do what they say they do and do not give you a hard time.

they MUST have paid for the one and only 5 star review. This was by far the worst place of business i have EVER dealt with. They were late from day 1– forgot to pick up my child for her FIRST appt., this happened on numerous appts… When I called they were always rude, unorganized, and just seemed like «a deer in the headlights» all the time. But even WORSE, is how they took our money under false pretenses that if my child took and passed road test, she could drive. WRONG !! Still has to be 18, even though she took lessons, and passed road test !!! Really ??? Would of been nice if this was explained as they were taking my money !! I have called about this and their reply was «they don’t write the driving laws»… I have emailed them for refund, never replied. STAY AWAY FROM THIS ” school” !!!

Finished my last course today with my Instructor Haneef. From the start to the end, he’s been professional, friendly, and given extremely great advice and instructions. Never raises his voice and always really chill. Surprised no one has written a review yet. Overall, it was a good experience and happy with the lessons given. Always on time, and gives you the full lesson. Worth the money and time. Great instructor.

This driving school is the best! My daughter just pass her driving test first time. Adrian and George helping her to get through
daughter’s driving instructor in Rego Park never taught her much. They are the best!
Also thanks to Elissa the lady in the office. She has been helping us to find and change schedule many time with patien of a
second daughter also with the driving school. That how good they are. thank you
