Loving Touch Acupuncture & Herb P C

I have been seeing Dr. Pak for about six weeks and am impressed by the progress we have made with my insomnia. For nearly two years, I have had difficulty sleeping. I had no trouble falling asleep, but within 2 – 3 hours, I would wake up and often have difficulty getting back to sleep. Several doctors wanted to prescribe sleeping pills to me, but I strongly resisted their suggestions and chose to try acupuncture. I was really afraid for the first session, since I do not like needles and have passed out giving blood. Dr. Pak is excellent at putting in the needles and I must say, it’s not painful at all! Now, she is also treating me with herbs that are helping to balance my system, sleep more soundly and achieve better health in my peri-​menopausal state of flux. Dr. Pak is a gentle, kind practitioner who is highly skilled. It is without hesitation that I recommend her. She has helped me very much! I’m finally sleeping!

She is so wonderful. She explains everything and makes you feel very relaxed. She wont give you unnecessary treatments, ever. She’ll tell you upfront whether she can help you or not. The business is very clean and cozy. She is pretty flexible with times and payment with insurance. If she recommends supplemental herbs, take them. They are more than worth the price. They helped my mom and I tremendously.

I wound up seeing Dr. Pak after experiencing back pain and spasms that couldn’t even allow me to stand. Based on the review here along with her being a licnesed nurse, I felt more at ease.
Sure enough, my pain has subsided through her treatment. It seems odd at first that targeting areas away from where you would conventionally apply relief would work. Applying an open mind as well as Dr. Pak’s ability to apply acupuncture in a manner in which she seeks to treat overall symptoms has helped me greatly.
I appreciate the relief I’ve experienced through her knowledge and would recommend Dr. Pak.

I Bought a groupon to give it a try. I am a breast cancer survivor, I am on tamoxifen. The medication makes me very tired no energy and, very depressed, I started acupuncher with .Dr. Soon and I started feeling better after the first visit. It has been two months and I feel so much better my energy is back and the depression has lifted. I would highly recommend Dr. Soon

I learned about this place through a Groupon… I decided to go for fertility and chronic back pain issues… I had not done acupuncture before so I was curious… the office is small but nice and clean and Dr Pak uses sterile needles (I see her open new packages and throw the used needles in the red sharps container). I may not buy all the Eastern philosophy she sometimes explains (it sometimes sounds hokey to me) but I believe that she knows her acupuncture points and I have felt some back improvements and overall increased energy during the day… I no longer want to slumber around 3:00pm every day… I believe the acupuncture is relaxing and helpful and Dr Pak appears dedicated to targeting the symptoms you present. She’s very good at inserting the needles and you hardly feel anything… The only reason I didnt give her 5 stars is because her attitude is sometimes a little matter of fact… I think it may be a cultural thing thing though… however she is also very good at working out a sliding scale fee if insurance doesnt cover it. Overall, a very positive experience and im still going even after the groupon was used! I recommend her! Also Dr Pak is also an RN, which I think improves her credibility and I certainly appreciate the additional degree!

I resorted to acupuncture because I had back pain from daily carrying a heavy bag and walking 3 long blocks to work in Manhattan. I was also suffering from plantar fasciitis for 4 years and had cortisone shots that did not last 2 months each time. I was not overweight so the problem, various podiatrists had told me, were the inflammation, the way I walked, and the shoes that I wore. But no matter how many different types of shoes I used (comfort shoes or not), and however carefully I walked, the pain never went away. Getting up from prolonged sitting on the express bus and stepping down onto the street were agonizing. Getting off my regular car, even after a short ride, was difficult too. I felt like an old lady way before my time and I was afraid that I would end up walking with a cane if the pain got any worse.
I went to Loving Touch Acupuncture and told Dr. Soon R. Pak about my problems. With regards to my plantar fasciitis, she said that such condition usually took a while to diminish. I work full time in the city and have difficulty making it to her clinic on the weekdays. But, in my desperation, I made sure that I got treated 3 times in one week (once a week, she said, would not do). After that one week, I went on a 2-​week vacation, and then she was out of town when I got back. I was afraid that I would have had to re-​start the treatment over after a month of no sessions. As it turned out, that gave me time to see how well the 3 treatments worked.
Coming out of the clinic after the 3^rd session, I realized that I was not walking funny anymore. I was talking to my husband on the way to the car that I didn’t pay attention to the pain (or the lack of it) until I reached the vehicle. But I dismissed that as a natural consequence of just having had the treatment. However, as days went by, the pain quickly and completely left! I couldn’t believe it! My last treatment was about 5 months ago and I never had to deal with the plantar fasciitis ever since! I would constantly pay attention to my feet to make sure that I’m not imaging things but I absolutely have no pain!
With regards to my back problem, it is much less but I still need to go back for a 3 session week, which I hadn’t had the time to schedule. I also need to stop slinging my heavy bag on the same shoulder. I guess that I’m not as desperate now as I was when I first went to Loving Touch but I really should not make that an excuse to not go because I want my back to be completely pain-​free.
Dr. Pak had never put a needle on where my pains were located. She knew exactly which points to attack. When she would press on my abdominal side and it’s painful, that pain would disappear by the time the session was over. Obviously anticipating healing, she would always ask if the pain was gone.
I believe that she has a gift that not all acupuncturists possess. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is in pain.
