Rip off alert!!! This place used to be pretty good, but now… You will get the chewiest steak at a cost you won’t be able to swallow. Just go to avocados down the road. We ordered quite a bit of food the other night; a shrimp and spinach quesadilla which had one small piece of shrimp for each of the four quarters and the rest was spinach falling out of the moosh tortilla. We got the special steak and spinach wrap thingy with a honey mustard something which tasted okay but the steak in it was god awful to try to chew. The shrimp BLT tacos were good but again, overpriced for the little amount of tiny shrimp they had in them. I used to go here off and on when I worked closer but I doubt I’ll ever return, the last two times have been a major disappointment.

We are new to the area and have been searching for some«staples» for different types of takeout. Unfortunately, Salsa Salsa fell short. The food was not bad, but it was nothing to be excited about. It would have been good enough to possibly return for a second try, but the girl who answered the phone was very rude to me. She made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by ordering and was very abrupt with me. I considered calling back to cancel, but it was getting a bit late. When I picked up my order there were a few people behind the counter and it was fairly obvious who she was. We have since tried other local establishments and have only had pleasant experiences.

Their food is fantastic, however the girls they have working the counter have the worst attitude problems. My boyfriend and I use to get burritos from here once a week and I’ve tried to be tolerate of their attitudes for the sake of their delicious food but I’ve reached my breaking point. They need to hire workers with customer service skills. If I ever gave a customer an attitude like I experience at this place, I would have been fired years ago. How your workers behave, can attribute to if your business is successful. No matter how good the food is I will NEVER go back to this place.

We had the chichen fajita, the chicken was so dry, over stuffed like a Barrito and fell apart, the rice was dry and pasty. $ 19.00 down the drain. My First AND Last time, I Am Glad Moe’s isn’t too far away

Two words: Steak Taco. You may think im crazy for basically saying that’s the best thing on the menu… but for the price and what you get is awesome. The taco is packed with pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream, and steak and you walk away spending the huge amount of $ 2.75. Sometimes I feel it is better to walk in an order instead of call ahead because they are always putting up different specials on the board. They had fried calamari tacos the other day which were boss. Over all for being a chain Mexican place their food is always pretty solid. Easy and fast.

Well the food is ok. I’ve definitely had a better taco before however I’m pretty sure tacos should be hot or at least warm instead of cold. Very disappointed that it was served COLD. Avacados down the street gets it right!!! Worth the extra .50 for a hot taco

Used to go here all the time. Yes the girl behind the counter is a little on the rude side but it was close and no too bad. I tried to call in an order and asked the girl what the specials were. She responded with«it’s on the website.» I said oh I guess I will have to call you back and she responds with«yeah I am really busy.» I am happy that there are two other places near them that have time for a customer. My advice… Try avocados or Texas taco and keep this place as a last resort.

Eh. This is my first time here and I had a ground beef taco and a chicken taco with a side of black beans and rice. The tacos were ok but the rice was terrible. So bland. But it was only my first time and I hear their burritos are good so I’ll try that.

Delicious food. Great prices. Chicken tacos were amazing. Guacamole was great. Friendly and fast service. They have corn tortillas for gluten free folks. Highly recommend.

I’m in love with the Smithtown location, so when I moved to Patchogue I was excited there was a Salsa Salsa close by. We ate here twice and were disappointed each time. As opposed to the Smithtown one, this Salsa Salsa is really more of a take out place, akin to the Port Jeff one. Normally this is fine but if you are just looking for some take out Mexican the food is way better a stone’s throw down the street at Avocado’s. Once we tried Avocado’s, we never had any desire to return to Salsa Salsa.

The food here was fresh and delicious. Guacamole was amazing and the tacos were great I’m glad we found this place. The only complaint I have is one of the girls was a tad rude and lit up her cigarette inside and then went outside to smoke. I don’t need to smell cigarette smoke lingering while I’m eating. Why not light it outside?

Girl behind the counter is a rude Beyotch, they are over priced & very cheap with the amount of food they give you. I paid 8.25 for a quesadilla that was pretty much empty inside… & my husband got a cheese quesadilla that was sooo small, not even big enough to fill up a 5 year olds belly. We will stick to Bubba’s Burrito Bar in Islip… They are 100% better and the girls there are very nice !!!

Love the tacos. They are really very good. But everything else is so so. Not the best burritos, but okay. Not crazy about the quality of the meats. Sometimes the chicken is weird.

Average Mexican food, went in here a couple times and I wasn’t impressed. Satisfied. But not impressed. Occasionally the chef will put up specials that hit. They had a BBQ chicken queso with red onions and special sauce, it’s the best thing I’ve had from there. But every other time I went. I’m glad I was stoned out of my mind to the point that popcorn and PB&J would taste like filet mignon.

I don’t get the hype… Maybe I ordered the wrong items for dinner. Don’t get me wrong, the service and quality was good but I didn’t find the food flavorful at all.

Love their guacamole here! Thick, creamy with nice avocado chunks. Had their sautéed vegetable burrito and thought it was good. Have to say I prefer Avocados but, it was still delicious. Prices are very reasonable and staff is friendly. They have some specials like Yucca fries, jalapeño poppers or special burritos. Would return to check them out.

My favorite thing. BLTTACOS. Who would have thought cilantro on BLT would be awesome. 3 for $ 8.25

Really? First time Unilocal did me wrong. This place isn’t very good guys. I guess everyones pallet is different. Feel like this place is 1 notch above taco bell. I had the steak burrito which was flavorless and had to drench it in cholula. Now I’m comparing this place to some of the better places on the island like bubbas burrito and Mexican grill 2000 and this place isn’t in the same league. Not very authentic and no where near a west coast burrito. Don’t get me wrong it’s not terrible but I’m one-and-done with this spot. Chipotle is a much better chain with the same prices n bigger burrito. My gfs chicken quesadilla was very dry but we both liked the sour cream though. Lol Go to MG2K. You at least get free chips n salsa. I hate writing bad reviews.

Every time I’m visiting family I head to Salsa Salsa. The service is quick and the food is made to order. So you can always get hot sauce or some extra japoleños. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. Definitely try the eggplant chili or the fajitas, you won’t be disappointed.

After moving to the south shore of LI from Huntington, I was starved for a good Tex-Mex place that wasn’t a bodega with suspicious steamer trays, questionable food prep practices, and staff who suddenly don’t speak English when one asks which mystery meat is the special of the day. Salsa-Salsa came to me on a suggestion of a co-worker who knew of my quest and my culinary standards. After finding the place about a mile West of the bottom of Nichols Road, I was pleased to see a clean and well managed store that looked like a big open kitchen. Upon viewing what others were ordering, I asked the cheerful cashier what had just been served and took my que from there. What came to me rather quickly was clearly worth noting as the monster burrito, covered in a baked cheese and sauce, defied logic. I mentioned to the cashier what I had ordered and she confidently assured me that it was exactly what I ordered and she had a cover for it to take home, if I wanted it too. It must have been a dinner for two and the size of a small football! As broke into the burrito, I was tempted into the delicious Tex-Mex side sauce with its spicy and colorful way. Demolishing the burrito was a first for me and I even went back for something to take home with a salad topped off with cilantro. My experience was very good and I have returned to this little place in Bayshore at least twice in the past 2 weeks. I put a 4-star note about this place on my mental map of food markers for LI as it clearly stands with my favorite Americanized-Mexican Food places, which for show would include Faz’s in Huntington, El Ranchita in East Northport, and The Goldmine in Greenlawn.
