Awesome salon! Ruk styled me and my bridal party, doing our hair and makeup, for my wedding last week and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She and her staff are knowledgeable and delivered exactly what I was looking for. Ruk is very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. Ruk was able to fit me in for a last minute appointment and did not disappoint! She has a really cute space and her staff is welcoming. As soon as I walked in and put my stuff down they were ready to wash my hair, and right after that Ruk gave me some beautiful layers and a blow out with lots of volume (which is tough with my super straight hair.) I’ll definitely be back.

Stumbled on this place after being disrespected At bellassima and it was possibly one of the best blow outs I have ever had. Will definitely be back!

I look forward to my appointments with Ruk. It means I will have at least another two months of compliments on my hair everywhere I go. Ruk understands highlights, balayage, ombré, lowlights, toning, base color and how all of that comes together if you want it to. She takes no pleasure in the final product unless you do. She also isn’t someone who will sit there and say yes to whatever you want (because let’s face it, sometimes what’s trendy at the moment doesn’t always suit you but sometimes we’re so caught up in the hype) unless you are really sure about it. She could have easily taken my money for multiple sessions to give me the grey hair I wanted, but she sat there and explained to me realistically my skintone is naturally fair, I also don’t tan easily and I don’t really wear much makeup (i.e. bronzer) so if I wanted to go gray it will wash me out, we can still do if I really want it but she was just suggesting either blonde or even purple (another trendy color) would work much better. So we ended up going blonde (my first time going that light) and even without going gray I was able to see exactly what she meant (the ashiness of the blonde was sorta washing me out already, still looked amazing I got compliments even in my conservative company). She will analyze your hair and will always try to suggest the process and products with least damage. I love how when Olaplex was first coming to the east coast I immediately called her to ask if she would be including it in with her services and she immediately said «Yes, already ordered and just waiting for it to arrive.» It really shows that Ruk is on top of her game and really passionate about using only the best products in her studio. I was afraid that cutting my long hair to the medium length that’s in right now would make my round face blow up even more, she says no way she loved the idea and now I get more compliments than ever with the hair down to my butt. She has earned my complete trust.
Another thing, my husband has gone to a barbershop all his life and last year decided to grow his hair out a little and since he sees how much I love Ruk, he went to her also to maintain his slightly longer hair and now he doesn’t want to go back to a barbershop ever again even though he’s considering chopping off the long hair. She takes her time even with men’s haircuts and like a real stylist does his fade with scissors (which my husband thought was a thing only high end barbershops did).
For the quality of work and products Ruk uses, her prices are beyond fair. I work in the city, am willing to pay top dollar for really great work, and live about 45 minutes away from Ruk and I will still go to her every time for cut and/​or color.

Ruk is great! I’ve always had a hard time finding the right colorist and I’m so glad that I found this salon. I get so many compliments on my hair and she is truly great at what she does. She’s always on trend and makes my hair look so healthy. Highly recommend!

I have been going to the same hairstylist for 15 years and never had a reason to change. I recently moved to Bayonne a couple of years ago and needed a good picker-​upper. One of my good friends told me how she went to Ruk and by the look of her hair. I needed to try for myself. Ruk is now my go-​to girl. She is super professional at the same time super casual and fun. She’s up to date with the latest fashion and makes sure she nails exactly your vision PLUS more! The shop is so chic and comfortable. She takes her time and makes sure she’s every strand of hair perfect. If you are looking for a good stylist, she’s the gal!

Ruk is wonderful — she really takes her time and takes pride in her work. She’s colored, cut and has done my makeup over the years. She was even the hair and makeup stylist for my wedding! That’s how much i trust and adore her… I’ve been able to get a good friend out of my salon appointments!

Excellent service and great prices! Rukmini is a friendly and talented hair dresser. I always leave it up to her to decide what to do with my hair and I am never disappointed. Already have my next appointment scheduled:)

Amazing hair and makeup! Beautiful salon and friendly staff. Rukmini is the best stylist there is. She’s been doing my hair for years and I won’t let anyone else touch it. I travel all the way fr Monroe, NY just for her.
