Archie’s Cab Co and Van Service

Needed a ride to Newark Airport and unfortunately there wasn’t an über in my area at 5:30am. Called this place and a very nice woman answered and said the cab would be $ 36.30 from my house (really wish there was an über!) and that the driver would be there in 10 – 15 minutes. He came in 10 minutes and made minimal conversation (entirely too early) and I was at the airport in record time.

Great service! Just got dropped off at airport by Brian. Courteous, prompt service.

I wish I could give this less than one star. Worst cab company ever! Never take this cab you’re better off just taking yellow cab In Bayonne or downloading #über.

I’ve been using this can service on a bi-​weekly basis for many months to go to the airport from Bayonne; I find they are timely and honest. I especially think Stacy is a great driver. Updated cars would be nice but the ones they have serve their purpose. You can pay with a credit card but you need to call ahead of time to do so. I will continue to be using this cab service.

Worst company ever. Extremely rude. Tried their driver from Bayonne to Newark airport the guy was nuts. Car was extremely in bad shape. Second time called them to pick my son from daycare they didn’t even wait for 2 minutes. I called them and said that I saw the cab driving away and I was just opening the door to step outside and get in the cab the dispatcher yells at me and says next time be there on time and hangs up. Extremely unprofessional. I would crawl in my knees and hands rather than calling them. Do your self a favor and don’t ever ever use their cabs.

Well, serves me right. I decided to try them out despite all the bad reviews. The cab arrived within minutes of my call. However, there was another passenger in the car already. Apparently they could not get a free cab and got me one that was in the area, with a passenger in it. Why they assumed this would be acceptable is beyond me. I declined the ride.
I moved to Bayonne a few months ago — it has been an ongoing culture shock of living in a low income area, and this experience is fitting to the overall environment.

Service is getting better now that I opened a corporate account with monthly billing. After 10 years of using this company I may have finally found the secret to getting them to care at least a little about my business. Dispatchers except for a select few are still rude & couldn’t care less. Wait times are still 10 – 15 minutes on average. Company is still in the last century with no computers & everything including billing done with paper & pen. They only take cash unless you have a corporate account & then you can mail in a check when you receive the bill, but no credit cards at all!
I will still use them locally but when there’s an Über car around I would definitely choose them over Archie’s.

Got us too. Two couples traveling together from the cruise port to Newark airport. Dispatcher told us $ 47 for the trip. Got to destination driver demanded $ 47 per couple even though we got off at the same spot. No choice but to pay. These people are ripoff artists.

Archie’s Cab Co. has provided great service for me. The wait for a cab has never been longer than ten minutes, even when it’s pouring rain and I’m sure they have tons of calls. The drivers are friendly and courteous– I had to take my cat to an emergency vet appointment right after work, and the driver was very patient picking me up from the train and waiting as I went upstairs to get my cat. The driver didn’t even complain when my cat screamed the entire ride to the vet. More recently, a driver from Archie’s offered to help me carry my groceries into the lobby of my building. You don’t see that kind of service often these days!
