Established in 2014.

In the summer of 2009 Jack and Bri met volunteering for the Just For Kids organization. They became friends over the next few years they spent putting time into the Tri-​City community while they were building parks, reaching out to children in need, and raising money for families in the area. After their volunteer work they both parted ways to pursue their careers, Bri in baking and Jack in the coffee industry. In the winter of 2013 they both came together to dream up a vision of what The Fix may be, putting together both of what they learned in their fields. The following spring they saw that vision starting to take shape and since then have pushed The Fix to become what it is today. Sadly Bri had to leave the company in interest of other pursuits, but you can still find Jack and newly promoted Chris Tanner working tirelessly to improve your coffee experience in Bay City.

Adventurer, coffee enthusiast, and writer, Jack’s work with coffee began after falling in love with coffee shops after working in Saginaw’s own Magic Bean Café in 2010, the first coffee shop to ever carry Populace Coffee. Over the past 4 years, he has worked in coffee and trained under Counter Culture, Madcap, and especially Populace Coffee with community and sustainability in mind. Opening The Fix in 2014 gave him a chance to bring part of what he loved about the coffee culture to Bay City. With a commitment to community, art, and Bay City, he established The Fix as a destination spot in Bay City as a place for the people of the city as well as the artists, musicians, and writers.

Jack is currently living happily in downtown Bay City while overseeing the coffee brewing and espresso pulling at The Fix, he can be found tackling new projects such as working towards a degree in English and Teaching.

This is everything Bay City needs and could ever want from a coffee shop! The space is bright with just the right balance of contemporary flair and traditional coffeehouse charm. They serve all types of coffee from Chemex to V60 to Aeropress. The roasters they feature are of the HIGHEST quality and reputation. (Currently exclusive brewing local beans from Populace Coffee). They also offer all espresso drinks you’d expect, along with clever specials, handmade syrups, fruit sodas, and craft drinks from great providers all over the country. All baked goods are made-​in house and taste better than any other café’s snacks! The espresso is pulled skillfully, and the baristas are incredibly knowledgable about what they’re serving. Great outputs all around from service to cleanliness to aesthetics.

I love it here! Small coffee menu! All of their syrups are made in-​house. Their lattes are so smooth and delicious and the scenery on the river is perfect.

The Fix is an excellent coffee shop. The Fix has both an environment for morning business folk to energize, and the average caffeinated fiend to enjoy a cup of coffee. Using a clean space with an energizing yellow wall and natural wood, The Fix is a lovely space in the growing Uptown Area of Bay City.
The coffee is very well brewed, with Mr. Rechsteiner educating himself over the years — and continuing to learn and expand his knowledge and the knowledge of his staff. Using as many local ingredients as possible, this coffee shop is guilt free is many ways. Also, they make all of their syrups in house from fresh ingredients, a nice touch!
Worth the visit, especially since The Fix uses a loyalty rewards program to which ever five purchases grants you a 50% OFF coupon to use at your disposal. A nice piece for if you plan on being a regular (as you may end up being if you stop just once!)

This is the finest coffee establishment in Bay City. Not only are all the varieties/​selections of coffee/​teas top notch but it is the environment that makes the Fix special.

Adorable café. The barista was friendly. She told me they make their syrups in house. I tried the lavender syrup in my coffee, soooo good. They have a machine where you can get the greatest little pins. You know… Just incase you want to flair up your purse or jacket. I’ve told a few friends that they must stop if they are in the area.

I don’t often throw around five stars, but this is well deserved. My wife and I stopped into the fix for an afternoon coffee. I opted for the La Voz straight and black. Light bodied and masterfully brewed. My wife asked for a specialty number, a white chocolate raspberry latte, which wasn’t even on the menu. Our barista obliged and hit a home run. Absolutely delicious. Thanks Jack, will be coming back soon!

Super yummy hot and cold beverages in a modern, relaxing atmosphere. I enjoy all of the windows and happy little succulent plants throughout.
Some of my favorites at The Fix include, the mocha (coffee with milk and the homemade chocolate) the hot cocoa and the house made sodas and flavorings.
They offer coconut milk as the non-​dairy option and have a rotating variety of vegan baked goods! The baked goods are crazy inexpensive and so decadent.
The Fix holds events such as Open Mic Night, gaming tournaments and art shows. They’re a great addition to Bay City!
