This awful place has finally closed its doors. I was extremely excited to see a Middle Eastern/Lebanese restaurant open in Battle Creek only to be horrified by the food and the service. If this place was your first try at this kind of food, please don’t be discouraged. Traditional middle eastern food is very flavorful and healthier than most other cultural foods. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for another restaurant soon. Hopefully by someone else. Ugh!

Having been my first crack at this type of food, I thought it was pretty good. The falafel was great. Cooked all the way through, and the dipping sauce(whatever it was) was a good addition. We had one of the combo plates and everything was fresh, warm and tasty. Didn’t experience anything like some others have noted about bad or sour tastes. The hummus was nice. So much better than any of the stuff we’ve bought from the store. I don’t know if he’s making it himself or what, but we enjoyed it. The building is what it is. Nothing fancy, but I didn’t think it was dirty or anything. The staff was nice, and the owner did come out a couple times to greet people and chat a bit when he could. All in all, I know we’ll go back again. Hope its the same or better next time around

Very good Lebanese and Arabic food. Nothing fancy about the place, but the food is delicious. I have eaten her four times now most recently trying the Shish Kabob. The Kabob came with a very flavorful rice, salad, cucumber sauce, and and another sauce that was also good. The gyros are also good choice on the menu. My wife enjoys the lentil soup, the falafel, and the tabouli.

Wow. What a terrible experience. I’ve eaten a lot of middle eastern food. I lived in Detroit and San Francisco. I was so happy to see another 1 star on this site. I would not be writing this review if the restaurant had not been so rude and defensive. The garlic sauce was bitter with lemon and you could taste zero garlic. The pita was cold and dry and the falafel had a very weird overpowering taste. The waitress asked If I was happy with my food and I told her no. She walked away as if I’d said yes. When she went by again I stopped her to tell her I did not like it. I ate a 2 inch tear from the pita, one falafel and a schmere of the garlic sauce. Now if they’d just taken it away and left me alone that would have been fine. But they literally badgered me that EVERYONE else loves their food and there must be something wrong with me. My friend had a falafel sandwich which came with rice that was so dry she couldn’t eat it. She was very hungry so ate half her sandwich but also said it wasn’t good — only to me of course since she didn’t want to offend these people. They LITERALLY told me at least 7 times that everyone else loves their food. They sell gallons of their garlic sauce, etc. etc. Now here’s the kicker. I drank half a cup of lukewarm lipton(bag included) tea. When I went to check out he wanted to charge me 8.09 for a cup of tea. He mention at least 3 times that he had to waste the food. I like the other reviewer will travel to Grand Rapids for Sheshco Mediterranean Grill or even Kalamazoo Schwarma King. I will NEVER go to this horrible restaurant again and I discourage others from trying it as well. Because truly you have spit on them if you don’t like your food. Don’t get so emotional dudes. It’s not like I insulted your mother! Unless of course these nasty recipes are hers!

I didn’t get to try it before it became a buffet, to say I’m crushed another place has gone buffet is an accurate statement. They at least solved the problem of A Taste of India’s staff constantly pestering you about the buffet as you order from the menu — there is no menu, it’s only the buffet. The buffet food isn’t even Lebanese/Levantine, it’s just Indian.

We went in because we saw a worker holding up a Gyro sign. I was really impressed with the quality and tasteof their gyro’s. The best I’ve ever had. Def a keeper!
