The Griffin strives to offer a «Food and Drink Experience» that will set us apart as being comfortable, fun and original. The Griffin is a true Irish Pub that offers 36 draught beers from around the world and is the only Pub in Battle Creek with 2 unique cask-​conditioned, hand pulled ales. We have a full service bar and menu for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner, and have a reputation for the «Best Fish & Chips» in the area. Dine in and enjoy the great atmosphere inside or on either one of our outside, beer garden patios. You may also call ahead for your order to go. You can enjoy daily drink specials from 3pm until close, 14 color televisions for the best in collegiate and professional sports, as well as 5 dart lanes. History

Established in 1999.

This building housed Wal-​greens Pharmacy from the 1940’s through the 1960’s. It converted from Mahoney’s women’s dress shop in 1987 to the Weather Vane restaurant and then to The Griffin Grill & Pub in 1999.

Best food in the f’n town!!!
So I’ve come here on business twice. Bells 2H on draught and a bunch of others. There’s plenty of good food as it seems. But now I finally tried them chipotle steak bites and see what the all the hype is about.
Basically, if you come here and DON’T order the chipotle steak bites, YOU, my friends, are missing out. Order them. Now. Do it.
Ok time for another IPA.

I got the ny strip steak it was supposed to come medium well but it was cooked completely through. The vegetables on the side were still frozen on the inside and the crinkle cut fries were barley warm. I went with a group when it was busy and it took over an hour to get our food would not recommend

In town for a meet at the Kellogg center so relying on Unilocal for some good food in an unfamiliar town. I really wanted to like this place. Nice place, nice people but none of the food we had was very good. Server indicated the blue cheese pot roast sandwich was very good and it sounded interest so tried that. «What kind of side would you like?» She listed all sorts of fries so I just chose one one because they were included. Well apparently they weren’t — extra $ 3 on the bill. Who serves a sandwich without fries or chips? The pot roast itself was ok (needed salt) and I personally think the blue cheese wasn’t a good match so overall it fell flat for me.
My sister ordered the Rooster salad which sounded amazing on paper but was pretty meh.
On a positive note, my niece ordered a burger from the kids menu. It came with fries and the entrée was definitely adult size — burger was big on a Kaiser bun and same fries.

Great restaurant with great service! I came here with a large group of 16 people and we all had a wonderful time. We had intended to go with a much larger group the day before, but had to cancel at the last minute due to a snowstorm. The staff were kind and understanding about our cancellation and we were happy to be able to visit the next day. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. We were in town for the US Synchronized Skating Championships and the staff were so kind to our skaters — making them feel very welcome. Thank you!

Nice place & great service! I’m not a fan of fish (unless I’m near the ocean where they come from) but they have the BEST fish tacos here! I would hands down order them again! Homemade chips were also very good!

This place is just okay. I’ve been here for both dinner and lunch, and while the service is pretty good, the food is not. The menu is typical bar food, with a few items thrown in to make it more appealing. Like, yesterday, they had a special gyro (which, btw, the wait-​person did not know how to pronounce), that they said had a cucumber sauce. The cucumber sauce was really just cucumbers with some feta cheese. Also, their fries! The fries are cooked nicely, but have no seasoning or flavors at all. I only come here when I have to, as it’s pretty conveniently located and has a menu that can appeal to many appetites (except vegan! They gave our vegan guest croutons, even though she had asked to not have them, since they were cooked in butter).

I love the griffin! I am local and It is my favorite place for dinner, for a couple drinks, or for pure drunken madness. I know it’s hard to believe, but this place is suitable for any of those options. I’ve even had business related meetings here in the day time. There are seating options from bar seats, to an entirely separate dining area, or even outside on the seasonal patio. The food is fantastic! The beer menu is on point! The staff is amazing, they’re all super cool guys and gals. It feels like a real Irish pub, and if you give it half a Chance I’m sure you’ll be impressed.

Was in battle creek for business and needed some breakfast! I was a little skeptical (even though I checked Unilocal) to walk into a pub for breakfast! But the steak, eggs, hash browns, and coffee all came out piping hot and cooked to order! Would stop here again.

Bewildered at 4 star review. It was very loud, dark, not modern. Smokers right outside the door. Long time getting service then things like plates and silverware took a long time after appetizer was delivered. The food was really the main problem… could barely eat sirloin steaks. They shouldn’t have bothered with the old bread triangles. Shepard pie was edible but slightly strange. Bathroom seats loose and falling apart. It was a hopping place, though, including various age ranges, so they must see something we didn’t. For the money wish we’d tried some place else.

Chipotle steak bites, fish tacos, waffle fries, pub burger, chicken strip salad, etc. Really solid, consistently good food here. Everything is tasty and the portions are just big enough so you have trouble finishing them. A well stocked bar and great pub atmosphere, this is probably the best true «bar» in BC. The bartenders are the best in the city and they have two waitresses that are absolutely top notch, Arla and Paige i’m talking to you. Owners are very friendly. My only complaint is that it gets hella loud in here at night and it is often pretty crowded, but that is what you get when you have great food + great service.

Ok, so this is one of our local «pubs». I eat here every now and then, but just recently thought enough to Unilocal about it.
This is a good place to go for a pub burger and a beer. They have you usual burger options and the beer menu is huge. This time I met a buddy from outta town for lunch. I wanted to order something outside of my «pub burger box», so I went for the lunch special fish tacos.
I got two small greasy fried corn taco shells with what looked like a chopped up fish stick on each one. They threw on a few basic toppings and a side of cold fries.
My buddy’s burger was about as usual but his fries were cold too. We had waters instead of beers cause he going back on the clock. If we had beers in us maybe the food would have tasted better.
Lunch specials with waters and a tip ran each of us about $ 10. Fair enough. Wait staff was pretty standard. Nothing special. I three starred this place on just over all food and dining experience. Maybe a four star if you just sit down for a quick bite, then leave.
If you want a burger and beer, this is a good place to stop. Anything else, keep driving.

Horrible horribly slow service tonight. Party of 12 for happy hour. Was there for two drinks from 500 to 630. Only had two because service was soo slow so we left.
Ordered the second drink around 530, since they didn’t serve them until after 615 they charged us full price. Really???

Home run for Unilocal again! Their beer selection is AWSOME! Read on Unilocal about taco night on Mondays. Bartender said they are known for fish and chips but it is Monday night. I must agree the tacos are AWSOME. First round had one of each beef, chicken, and fish. They all were great! However, The fish and chicken peaked my interest tonight and satisfied my need to feed!
For it being a cold winter night this place is warm and toasty, have not noticed the door opening and closing from patrons coming and going. The ambiance is well, they are Michigan State fans and as I am from Indiana and in Michigan I cannot fault them for that. I defiantly recommend this. There are plenty of TV’s to be seen from almost every angle.
Not sure how long it is good for, but Monday’s night is also $ 1.00 off all beers.
Just had 2 beers (some kind of vanilla porter) and 7 tacos for $ 13.25 it just doesn’t get much better! So I raised it to 5 stars AWSOME value. By the way rest of menue looks delicious too and reasonably priced.
