Zanella Wax Bar

The waxer continuously burned me after I told her the wax was too hot. She told me it was because of my nerves. I’ve had full Brazilians before. Never been burned before. I didn’t even let her finish the service but she charged me the full price anyway. I then had to go to the pharmacy and buy aloe vera gel because it hurt that bad. Never again.

I’ve been to many wax studios over the years, some good and some bad. When I find one I like its like shopping for a new hair dresser. Relief… So I was a bit nervous when we moved to BR. I had been going to the same place in STL for three years. I was not looking forward to choosing a new wax studio. It made me nervous. After doing alot of online research, I decided to try Zanella. I liked the idea of going to a place that only did waxing
I made an appointment at the location near Perkins Rowe with Meagan. The place is small and the waiting area is a bit plain, but it very clean. The wax rooms are large and comfortable. No frills. Meagan was great. Very friendly and she made getting a Brazilian from a new person as comfortable she could. Meagan did a good job on both the Brazilian and brow wax and I’ve been back several times.
Don’t go expecting an ultra modern, fancy place that offers V-​dazzling, coloring, or stenciling. Just a friendly staff that does a great job of performing basic wax services.

Their awesome staff was able to get me in for a much needed eyebrow wax within an hour of my calling. The receptionist also asked if I was a student to let me know about their student discount. The whole experience was clean with a calming ambiance. Anastasia worked miracles on my eyebrows and it was basically painless. The wax itself was barely half of the service. She massaged the area and somehow made it so that I left only mildly red, which says a lot because I have left appointments at other places harshly red for a minimum of an hour. Overall a really great experience!

It has been a very long time since I’ve gone to get a Brazilian wax, because the last time I got it done (at a salon that shall remain nameless) the experience was anything but pleasant. I was red and hurting for days after the experience. So, needless to say, I was a little nervous to be (a) getting waxed at all, (b) getting waxed a brand new pace, and © getting waxed by a brand new person. Thankfully, Zanella’s was a dream come true and my fears were totally unfounded. This is going to be the only place I go to get waxed from now on.
First off, they have an online booking system which makes setting up an appointment quick and easy. (I was able to book a same day appointment for my lunch hour on a Thursday.)
Second, the prices are extremely reasonable (my Brazilian cost $ 65) compared to other places that I’ve been to (who have charged $ 70 – 85 for the same service).
Third, the place was immaculately clean and extremely well lit; everything was clean and the staff was friendly and polite and my appointment started exactly on time.
Finally, Anastasia did an amazing job! The entire thing was practically painless — something I attributed both to her skill and to the fact that they use ‘hard’ wax that doesn’t require strips to remove the majority of the hair, followed by soft wax and strips to remove the tinier, downy type hairs — with only slight redness and no swelling after the fact.
To make a long story short, this place is definitely worth the time and the money.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I have been a client for years. Erica (the owner) is the consummate professional. I have never had a bad experience with any of the ladies who I’ve booked an appointment with. Both locations are clean, the staff is polite and best of all, they are almost never running behind. As long as Zanellas is in business, I will be a loyal client!

DO NOT go to this place. VERY RUDE OWNER named Erica, or at least she claims to be the owner. I booked an appt online, and chose the wrong location and showed up at the garden district vs the Perkins Rowe location. When I called to simply asks to move my appointment the owner said «well technically you messed up so we should just charge you the cancellation fee, it’s your fault, I mean how did you book and one location and show up at another, who does that?» I explained that her location at Perkins shows as closed on Wednesday’s in Unilocal,and that someone mentioned it to me as well then she said «MY location at Perkins Rowe has never been closed, WHO told you that?»…basically telling on herself that she was the owner and not some disgruntled employee. After this I was charged the full cost of the full appt by the way, I remained calm and professional with her, even though she charged me the cancellation, but due to her talking to me like an idiot I will pass on patronizing her business in the future.

So I went to get a full Brazilian yesterday by carli and I was very disappointed with my experience. For one she’s only been doing it for two weeks, and it showed. She rushed through it and really didn’t seem to care. I wouldn’t mind having someone new, but being charged $ 70 for a botched wax job is ridiculous. The only pro to this place would be it was very clean and when I spoke with Megan on the phone she was very nice. Despite that, I will not be returning to this place.

I love this place! I’ve been going here for a few years now, and I’ve become friends with all of the ladies that work here. Every one is professional and the studio is very clean. Good luck finding a wax place half as good as Zanella’s.

I went to Zanella’s in the Garden District in Baton Rouge. I LOVED it. Trudy was so nice and kept me talking all the way through it, so the time passed quickly. It hardly hurt at all. I was very impressed with the service as well as the price. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I am a HUGE fan of Zanella’s! I’ve been waxed at several places, but Zanella’s is my favorite! I’ve seen Hannah (who has now moved away — so sad about that), Erica, and Megan, and they are all fabulous! They are great about answering questions (if you have any), they make you feel comfortable, and they are QUICK while still doing an excellent job! While waxing is never painless, it’s great to know that it won’t last very long and that the end results will be great!
