We dropped by Cortana mall to look for mattresses and ended up at Sears. The sales lady was super pleasant and let us do our own research without bothering us too much. Once we were ready to check out she was more than willing to help. Great experience.

This is about sears in general, not this specific store. Ordered a refrigerator online Saturday, Feb 14, the Web said was in stock and and could be delivered Monday the 16^th. I knew I was off Tuesday, so I ordered with delivery for the 17^th. I got 2 confirms on Monday night and another Tuesday morning that I was scheduled for 9 to 11 am and on schedule. No one had showed up by 12 so I called the number in the delivery confirmation text. She said there were no deliveries scheduled because of weather. I pointed out I had text confirm that morning of delivery, she just said sorry, not delivering today. This was Mardi Gras day, the weather was clear, sunny and dry. No excuse not to deliver, especially when I had confirmation. She was no help, just making excuses, warehouse is in Gonzales, so no Mardi Gras traffic. She didnt even me mention a reschedule, but i needed that fridge as mine has died. I canceled delivery then called sears to cancel order. Got a woman with a heavy accent I could not understand, but finally got confirm order would be cancelled, after about 20 mins of back and forth and being put on hold repeatedly, demanded email confirmation of cancel. Still have not received confirmation. Went and bought one from Lowe’s that is in stock and delivered free. Not only has sears lost this $ 1200 sale, I will never purchase anything in any way from them again. I am telling everyone I know about this and posting to as many public forums as I can. I also sent 2 messages to sears, surprise, no response from them.

Don’t bother going on your lunch break. You’ll find the perfect item but you’ll wait in like for 30 min just to buy it. Store had pretty good selections on dresses but not very much for toddlers. If shop here again though. Just on a weekend for sure.

I’ve shopped at this Sears many times throughout my life, I’m 43 y.o. The clothing department is really decent. You can always find good deals on clearance. Even the regular priced items are decently priced. I love their handbag/​purses department! Always find good purses there at good prices. I’ve bought luggage in the luggage dept, and still own it today. Although it is sometimes hard to find an employee, you might have to hunt them down. Their car care and tire center is decent. That’s where I buy my car batteries. They have good pricing on those as well. The employees in the car care center could use some manners however. As for the Appliances department, weeeell, that’s another story! I tried buying a dishwasher from a salesman in that department, all the while repeating a specific feature I was looking for. He sold me one of the more expensive ones and he gave me his «private cell phone number» to contact him if I had any problems with installation. At that time I was also looking at double wall ovens. He showed me only 1 he had on display. Not anywhere close to what I was looking for. Wrong brand, features, etc. He let me look through his catalog but that wasn’t very helpful. I told him I’d look online and call him back when I decided but planned on deciding in the next day or so. He said «no problem!, just call my cell and if I don’t answer, just hang up and call the store and ask for the dept. manager». I said ok and did just that. After our dishwasher was installed, I found out it did NOT have the feature I’d thought I was buying and I became furious with the salesman for lying to me!!! I called Sears toll free number and had a customer servcie rep set up a refund for me. Then I called the store and got the run around on the phone being «transferred» from one employee to the next till I finally got «a» manager on the phone! He said he would deal with the salesman for lying to me and then offered me a refund on the installation fee since I’d been treated so rudely and had so much trouble. I appreciated that. So now I am in the process of having them do an uninstall and I will see if I can get an exchange instead of refund… if they have the new dishwasher I’ve chosen to buy that I’d researched online. At least the manager was nice enough to offer the refund of the installation fee. That shows they’re trying. Although the salesman is now going to get docked some commission for lying to me. Serves him right! The installers that Sears contracted out to do the install were very fast, clean, and polite. Did the install in 15 minutes and they were out of there! If the dishwasher (which is a Kenmore) would’ve dried the dishes and had a food disposer with self cleaning filter, I would’ve kept it. It’s not a bad dishwasher otherwise. But those are features I will not sacrifice. Still really angry at that salesman for lying to me about that when I repeatedly voiced my desire for those features. He lost this sale and then the sale of the double wall oven as well. The Hardware dept. is really nice as well. They have nice selection of tools to choose from. I’ve also bought gas grills from this location and my family has bought many bicycles from here throughout the years as I got older. Overall it’s a nice location. The employees lack a lot at this store, and I’ve seen this company start to take a nosedive in the last few years, which worries me that they might buckle under the pressure of the bad economy in the USA. I hope they don’t because it’s just possible that they’d close their Louisiana stores. I think they’ve already closed some stores elsewhere in the USA. Just hoping they hang on and survive the financial strains because I do love shopping here.
