My favorite little dive bar to hang out in. Danny is awesome and pours a mean drink. Huge beer and whiskey selection. The regulars are friendly, and awesome live music from LOCAL artists!

Great drinks, slightly crowded but that just forces you to talk to new people and make friends.

Oh, Baton Rouge, you’re so much fun. We were in search of the local dives and watering holes and found this little gem. Great local beer and spirits collection. Went in to the restroom and found some very … Um… Detailed wall art. So detailed that I felt compelled to censor the picture with an app I downloaded. Lol. Yes, it gets smokey. It’s a dive!

I’m amazed I’ve never written a review of this place before. This is a great little bar in Baton Rouge. Even though it came before The Cove, in its current context it seems like The Cove’s younger sibling. It’s like The Cove in almost every way except smaller. There is one big difference though, it’s definitely a dive. If you like your liquor or beer, but like your places a bit grungy, this is your place.

Anything adjacent to a Waffle House has to be a quality establishment… Go this bar for the bathrooms. Trust me, the bar itself is okay enough, pool table, foosball table, dark and dirty, but hands down the best thing about this bar is their awesome bathroom art.

Small, smokey, had beer pong on a pool float on the pool table. I’ll try it again on a better night.

It took me a while to find this place, but I am glad I did. This place not only has a great selection, but the people working there know their shit. Husband was looking for a specific Austrian beer, they knew of it and were able to confirm that the Cove will have it, so that’s our next stop. Of course, we saw enough that we liked so we stayed. When I ordered, they were out of what I wanted but were able to suggest complimentary options and even tried to describe them to me(No, I know what I want as a backup, but I’m glad you know about it too!). Their list of Belgian beers will have me coming back as often as possible. Not only that, they were reasonably priced: no ridiculous markups, they just seem passionate about their beer which I love, because I’m passionate about it as well. Also, I know a few other reviews touched on the clientele, and I truly didn’t see any undergrads — there may have been a few but they blended in and didn’t show their obnoxiousness. And I guess if I drink too many belgians next time with their high ABVs, there is always the Waffle House next door to get my grub on and sober up…

This bar has a huge selection of everything, prices are good and service is awesome. The crowd is unique, lots of wait staff from nice local restrraunt. Only downfall is it is super smokey. Overall it’s a great place to drink and it has a waffle house next door so you can feast before you head home.

I remember when this place opened, and used to be a regular, but now only very rarely visit here. It used to be a quaint hole-in-the-wall type of joint, but over time it became popular with the college crowd a bit too much, and now it’s way too much. They are in the processes of redoing everything there and the beer selection is much higher now, which is nice because those used to be downsides to the place(besides the location, which of course hasn’t changed). Most of my friends have stopped going there for one reason or another, so that means I’ll be unlikely to stop in there more than once more again. Before the remodel things had gotten WAY too crowded in that place and the service suffered for it, but hopefully the remodel has fixed that. Now if only they could get rid of all the college kids, this place would be more comfortable.
