This park has a very nice baseball field, unlighted tennis court, half court basketball, small rec center, great playground and a covered picnic pavilion. The playground is adjacent to the Ball-field and close enough for families with smaller children to entertain the little ones and still cheer for any players on the field. The playground ground cover is built up enough to prevent swampy areas after a rain and was ant free on the day I visited. The jungle gym and toddler swing area has fencing behind it making it easy to keep those little ones away from the big boy and girl swings. The covered picnic pavilion is strategically located in the center of things. That’s great for parents that need to supervise different ages and activities. For me it meant a dry place to enjoy my coffee and breakfast sandwich on a rainy morning. I enjoyed eating my breakfast and watching the squirrels play and listening to the melodious bird songs. There was a pleasant woodsy smell in the air so even though the sound of cars was all around me I felt removed from the hustle and flow of the city. As I sat there I noticed how nice the grounds looked and that the large coffee I’d enjoyed was demanding an exit. The rec center wasn’t open yet so no restroom availability meant it was time to move on.
