Have been getting my nails and toes done for years in AZ. When we moved here I started goign to JC Nails. Good location near HEB. The nice thing about this salon is they are consistent in their services. The salon is always clean, and busy. They try to learn who you are and they greet you by name when you have been in a few times. Their spa pedicures are good and the nail techs to a nice fast job on manicures, fills, or full sets. They do get busy but they handle the work load professionally. Their parking lot is a bit small.

I went in for an underarm wax. The wax was done in a chair right next to the nail tech stations. Thank goodness I wore a sleeveless top. The girl was really sweet but she’s a double dipper and that is dangerous so I won’t be going back. They also use Gigi wax which I have never liked. I noticed some of the furniture was ripped just giving me a sense that it’s an old place. There are some newer places in Bastrop that I would be more comfortable going to. Sorry guys.

This is where I got a manicure and spa pedicure a couple of days before my wedding. It was perfectly fine, better than I had at Avenue 5 in Austin but not as good as at Maximum FX, which I guess is what I’d expect. I don’t remember the price, so it must have been prettymuch what I expected. The place seemed clean, the spa was a good temperature, the service was attentive/friendly without being annoying, etc. The place was fairly crowded with other customers, and the ambiance was pretty basic/blah. There weren’t that many choices of nail polish … I wanted something gold to go with both my wedding dress and the Indian outfit I wore at my reception. They only had one polish that fit the bill, and it was very sheer … I think they did 3 coats and it still didn’t show up that well. Something cool happened while I was there: first of all, I chose a wedding magazine to look at while my pedicure happened, and the guy tending to my feet asked me if I was getting married. He was surprised when I told him the wedding was in 2 days. A lady getting her nails done overheard this and said she was also getting married in Bastrop on the same day(of course she was getting a French mani/pedi in keeping with tradition), small world!(Apparently she and her guy also used the same bakery, see my Richard Family Bakery and Creamery review.) I’d consider going back again if I wanted a spa pedicure, but as I only get them once a year or so, I’d be almost as likely to try out another place in Bastrop, or even splurge on a fancy place in Austin.
