These trips are for everyone from serious anglers to the first-​time fishermen. Children of all ages are welcome. My specialty is deep water light tackle trolling for large Kokanee Salmon and rainbow trout using downriggers. a spacious 22-​foot custom JC Tri-​Toon Boat equipped with state-​of-​the-​art equipment, removable sunscreens, ultra light rods, four Cannon electric downriggers, Lowrance GPS/​depth finder, Auto Pilot, stereo with DVD, XM Radio/​ipod for the most comfortable guide boat experience around. All the fishing Tackle and equipment is included in the price of your trip. Just bring an ice chest with your snacks & drinks and we will fill it up with some fresh salmon for dinner

History

Established in 2000.

Bass Lake produces some of the largest Kokanee Salmon in California every year. You will see a few Kokanee fishing boats out fishing with us every morning for this aggressive striking, hard-​fighting aerobatic speed demon that is fighting for his life. Once hooked these powerful fish are a challenge for even the most skilled angler. With a Kokanee Salmon landing ratio of 50%-80% for most anglers, these trips are alot of fun for all ages. The table fare of the Kokanee Salmon baked, grilled or smoked is comparable to the same quality of Fresh Sockeye Salmon from Alaska.

I have lived in this area all my life and grew up fishing for trout in streams and lakes throughout the Sierra with my father, brothers and friends. I have been fishing for trout and Kokanee on Bass Lake for over 20 years. I have been Guiding at Bass Lake since 2000, a couple of years after realizing the best Kokanee fishing in the state was right in my own backyard. I want to be more than a fishing guide for the day, I like to teach anglers how to fish with downriggers and how to use other fishing equipment like fishfinders and GPS units. I allow the anglers the chance to help as little or as much as they want. This will help them become better fishermen on not only Bass Lake, but on other lakes as well. My goal is to provide our customers with all of the tools and personal instruction necessary to make for a fun and successful trip.
