Has the best french fries for miles! And great subs! Has to be one of my favorite places in basking ridge!

Just passing through — stopped for a sandwich. The egg salad was good. Friendly people. Busy place. But the chocolate chip cookie for $ 2.00 although wrapped in plastic was stale and tasted awful. Got on the road or I would have brought it back.

Best roast beef and turkey sloppy joe in all of new jersey. Even though I live out of state now I go back frequently because i’ve never had a better sandwich.

It’s a great spot for a quick and tasty snack. That’s it, nothing more needs to be said because it’s a good deli.

Love this little place! Their sandwiches are always delicious and their fries are out of this world! Cute little space, but parking can be a real pain.

Great place! I wish the #5 came woth mayo. :(otherwise, an awesome sandwich. Street parking. Eating outside is the best physical feature at this place. The porch wraps around the entire building. The juice selection could be better tho.

The location is great and the outdoor eating space is charming. The food is okay but not a place you seek out if you are looking for a great sandwich. The service is good but as many other reviews point out it does get busy at lunch time. This place would have tremendous potential if they spruced up their menu to be more american fare vs. just a local deli. This is not a place I would visit again.

I’ve been a couple times since moving back. Food is fine … when it arrives. It does get busy. A couple of weeks ago, my colleague and I sat about 30 minutes after putting in our order, watching other customers come and go, and wondering which sandwich was causing the hang up in the kitchen. I finally asked one of the guys bringing sandwiches to the tables. He happened to be the guy who took our order. «Yeah, it’s being put together, but there’s just a long line.» Then about 5 minutes later he returns, «Uh, I guess we misplaced your order. Can you remind me?» We left. I’ve since learned that on Mondays, the typical portion of chips is cut to no chips, with the sandwiches. Not sure why, and that data may be old. I’ll opt for different places, for the time being.

It’s a good place to take the family on the weekends when you don’t want to sit down at a restaurant and wait to be served. The food is what you’d expect from a deli type of restaurant. Enjoyable but not excellent. My wife really likes to sit at the tables out front near all the flowers. The only problem I have with the place is that they want people to pay for their food on the way out. Even when I try to pay at the time I order, they tell me to wait to pay. The problem is that you wait in line to order, sit down and eat, and then you have to wait in the same line as people ordering food to pay. When they’re not busy, it’s no big deal. However, when they are packed, it is annoying. We had some friends from out of town and took them here to eat and they liked everything they ordered but we ended up waiting in line for almost 20 minutes to pay because there was a lunch rush. I’d give it 4 stars if not for this issue.

Inside is a pretty standard sandwich shop with semi gruff counter service. Outside is an absolutely delightful porch that belongs in a really nice restaurant. I ordered a pretty good Reuben and sat on the porch to enjoy it. Overall, great experience.

I’ve been here the last two Sundays and I’m pretty sure I’ll be back every Sunday going forward. The restaurant is located on a quiet street in Basking Ridge’s «downtown» area. My husband and I always find parking down the road but there is also a parking lot in the back you if you come around the other side! The best part about Copper Kettle is that breakfast is served until 11:30am and there is ALWAYS outdoor seating. The area in front is beautifully lined with flowers and the porch wraps around so you can sit in the shade. The breakfast potatoes are delicious and the pancakes were a perfect way to end a meal. Fluffy, light, and just the right amount for two people. The chicken wrap is also a favorite of mine. They cook the meat perfectly, not drying it out, and there is a good amount of seasoning to give it a kick. My husband always gets the corned beef hash and cleans off his plate. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. My husband wants breakfast, I want lunch, we both want to sit outside. Winner.

Our favorite place to motorcycle ride to. Great for a casual breakfast or lunch. If it’s a nice day, sit outside on covered porch and enjoy. Nothing fancy food wise, but always a decent meal that hits the spot.

For a working-day lunch place, this is as good as it gets: quick, good variety, great outdoor seating, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. Serving portions are generous as well. In the heart of the town, this is quite popular with the office crowd. They do breakfast and lunch only — and was told cater a lot. Order at the counter and food is served at the table. This particular day, I ordered their veggie panini which had yummy goat cheese and fresh avocados. Warm and nicely done. Drinks by the bottle are available form the cabinet coolers. Parking in the rear can be tight during peak lunch time but between street and the back, finding a spot is never a problem.

Stopped through the town where I spent a few years as a kid(K and 1st grade circa 1970 – 72) to show my daughter around. Saw this deli on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. We enjoyed the generous portions of chicken salad and the fries were quite tasty.

Prices were reasonable, service was fine. Great place for a quick bite. I’d recommend if you’re in the area. The cheese was especially good and they made the food fairly quickly.

One of my favorite local establishments. Great place when in the center of downtown Basking Ridge. The porch and deck seating is great to watch folks go by or just sit and check out the valley of the wildlife preserve East of the building. Breakfast and deli sandwiches are very high quality as are the muffins!

I am a Basking Ridge native, and the Copper Kettle has always been my favorite brunch/lunch spot in the area. I have taken many out of towners to this quaint, delicious, casual and all around charming deli. The food is DELICIOUS. I have my favorite menu options that I rotate between, but I’ve never brought anyone who has left disappointed. Also, its a place where you can either grab and go, OR spend a few hours catching up with friends. The outdoor seating is ideal for the warmer months. Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a casual lunchtime spot!

Came here with a work colleague on my first visit to Basking Ridge. A very quaint spot in the old town portion of the town. Staff is foreign(and therefore speak with harsh accents), but very attentative and able. The cook can make a mean Rueben sandwich and the coffee machines are heavenly.

The Copper Kettle is a low-key deli serving breakfast, lunch *and* dinner, located right on the main road in Basking Ridge, just a block south of the main shopping district. Outdoor seating in the shade is just great. I highly recommend the daily special panini, always something great going on there. And maybe it’s silly but they have proper brewed iced tea, that makes me a fan. Marco(owner) and staff make all of the usual deli stuff, cold sandwiches like roast beef and sloppy joes*, and hot sandwiches like reubens and paninis. Didn’t get my usual tuna salad, instead tried their capicola. This spicy Italian ham sandwich was *enormous*, served on a fresh sub bun with plenty for two lunches, and the platter version came with chips and a pickle for only a buck more. *Note that this is an East coast sloppy joe, sliced cold cuts with dressing and stuff on top, not an Ohio sloppy joe, which is ground beef in a mildly spicy red sauce. Just sayin :) We visited for lunch when the tables were about half full, and lots of people getting take out. Order at the counter, they’ll bring out your food, and you pay when you leave, all very casual and friendly. Vegetarian rating: 2 stars, you can have your roasted peppers & mozzarella cold or on a hot grilled sandwich, or maybe a veggie burger. The outside of this converted house looks like, well, I’d have to describe it as «country». You know, as in, decorated by a girl. It has the fancy signs, the planters, random wreaths, etc. Don’t let that bother you, the inside is not as, ahem, cute and the food is not cutesy at all.
