History
Established in 1990.
Café Bernard is housed in one of Basalt’s original railroad-era buildings, dating back to the 1880s. Aspen transplants Bernard Moffroid and Cathy Click opened the restaurant as a casual spot serving the highest quality meals. Naturally, the menu leans heavily toward the French influence, drawing on Bernard’s Parisian roots. Simple, unusual, consistently flavorful, Bernard and Cathy are generally in the kitchen early in the morning and throughout dinner.
