Basalt Thrift is a non-profit and supports local sustainable food efforts such as the building of greenhouses at local schools where the children learn to grow organic produce and utilize it in their school lunch programs, and local CSA farm/ranch food projects. They also recycle and ship out an average of 80,000 pounds of good usable clothes and shoes both domestically and abroad to people in need.
