Morgan Christopher Salon & Spa

Do not go here, in my opinion terrible management. I have gift cards with the Morgan Christopher Salon name on them that they will not let me use even though they have not expired as they no longer subscribe to that service!!! Good management would have honored at least a portion. This place was terrible at scheduling as well when I did try to use them which is why I put off using them.

I have visited this salon twice based on a recommendation from a friend who stated the salon was under new management and she loved her stylist. I have been here twice now with the same stylist. I must compliment my stylist Brittany first. She is friendly, professional and goes out of her way to explain everything she is doing and LISTENS to my concerns and goals each time I have seen her. I haven’t had this type of service in a very long time and let me tell you, it feels great when I leave this salon because of her! She is just an easy going person who obviously loves what she does because it shows.
On my first visit I had a color, mini highlight and cut. I was overdue for a color. The only negative to this visit was the shock price Very expensive. I am used to paying high prices for my hair but this blew every other salon I’ve gone to in the City out of the water… I would only recommend they offer more discounts and incentives.
On my next visit I expressed my concerns about not wanting to spend as much as I did on my first visit and my stylist was SO ACCOMODATING! She made recommendations to reduce costs, while I still received a touch up, highlight and cut with an emailed discount, my price was much less this time around and I so appreciated her helpfulness with my price concerns. For this reason I am giving this salon 5 stars. The staff and management are equally professional and friendly. I feel so comfortable here and have loved each experience. They don’t try to upsell you, the stylists are not full of themselves (I have spoke to quite a few) and the service is excellent. In addition, I LOVE the Aveda line and after using these products again, I have stopped using other color treated hair lines. If you have color treated hair, you must try these products. My hair has never felt healthier and my color still looks amazing!!! (I have fine/​dry hair).
I will continue to be a customer here and I highly recommend them.

This salon is terrible. I actually stopped coming here for over a year but decided to give it another shot this month, my mistake. The noise level in the spa is not managed well at all. I could hear an entire conversation between staff and laughing throughout my experience. On my last visit I opted for a facial with melissa «that specialized in smoothing the skin.» Let me tell you, it did not. quite possible the worst ever. Skip this place. There are MUCH better Aveda spas out there. This one doesn’t even honor rewards coupons for samples. Skip it.

I had an awful experience at this place! I heard such great things about Aveada, so I decided to this salon out of all of others, worst idea. Not only took me several times to make an appointment, but my hair looked terrible, I left in tears. Hair color was not the same and my hair was fried with a choppy hair cut. Plus No refund. I’ve never had such a bad experience. I went to a diffrent Aveda Salon, they fixed my hair and I have never looked better. Aveda is amazing, just not that salon.

Morgan Christopher salon has been the best experience I’ve ever had at a salon anywhere. I live in Dallas Texas but have family in Chicago and am often here for business and almost exclusively get my hair done here. Everyone at the salon is welcoming and genuinely happy you’re there. Kelly is great, she really understands how to navigate my thick curly hair and achieve exactly the look I’m going for. I highly recommend making an appointment here for your hair!

New dedicated owner that really has her customers’ needs as a priority! Convenient location, and some excellent coupons and incentives to get some much needed pampering! Old and new customers should pay a visit just to see the changes!

Stopped by to try and get a wax quick. Their door said their hours were till 8pm on Friday. They weren’t open. I called and their machine said they choose at 7. Annoying that they didn’t update their hours on the door.

I used to go here all the time; however, then the pricing started to get ridiculous. I went in to get a cut and color, which ended up costing me over $ 200. At the end of it, my stylist asked me if I wanted to get my hair dried because it would cost extra… When I said no, she handed me the dryer so I could dry it myself and see what it looked like. You would think that if I’m spending that much money, she could dry my hair for free to make sure that she did a good job and no touch ups were needed. Maybe this is common practice at other salons but for the money I was spending, I thought it was completely outrageous, and I will be going somewhere else.

I’ve been using Morgan Christopher for several years now, and cannot speak highly enough about my stylist, Tara Storm. She is a master — literally — when it comes to hair color and always delivers the exact color I’m looking for, regardless of how that might change over time. My hair looks fabulous every time I leave the salon, and I have Tara to thank for that. If my review came down to her alone, Morgan Christopher would definitely receive five stars.
(I should also mention Natalie, who handles the front desk/​phone and is equally helpful, friendly, and organized.)
Morgan Christopher loses a few points for its décor, which seems a bit dated. The place has a bit of an Asian/​fung shui feel to it that’s 10 years old and showing some wear. They’ve recently changed some of the «artwork» at the salon, but it’s still a bit bizarre (they now have senior portraits of high school girls had their hair done at Morgan Christopher). Personally, I don’t think most customers «get» the pictures unless they ask their stylist.
That being said, I’ve been to some really horrendous salons previously, and Morgan Christopher’s outdated décor does not even come close to some of the atrocities I’ve seen. They are also an Aveda salon, which means their products are as close to completely organic as you can get. So if you’re looking for a new salon, or haven’t tried Morgan Christopher in awhile, I recommend you give it a try. Ask for Tara!

I tried this place again for a manicure and asked for a different nail tech and this time, it was even WORSE. I don’t know what I was thinking.
This tech was surly, angered and clearly didn’t want to be doing my nails. She was also sick and kept sniffling and I found myself wondering when was the last time she washed her hands! She didn’t wear gloves to do my nails and the worst part about it was that she used her dirty ass nails to wipe the polish from my skin around my nails!!! I scrubbed my hands the second I got home, convinced she might get me sick.
Her cuticle cleaning job was sub-​par and her paint job was AWFUL. I had to come home and fix my nails myself.
NEVER AGAIN.

Unfortunately after having written an excellent review I am forced to update it to warn others to stay away from this place. The recent disrespect and unprofessional behavior that I’ve witnessed is beyond belief. It’s obvious that the staff do what they want and there’s no owner in sight. Save yourself the bad experience and treatment, just go somewhere else. If you read all the reviews there’s an obvious trend going on here.

this review is for services performed around September, 2009 when I took my son there to have his hair cut. Amy was the stylist, and although I was very specific about what we wanted and didn’t want, she did the exact opposite. I expressed my displeasure at the front, and they offered to have someone else try to fix it (they could see that it was obviously botched), but at that point I just wanted to get the heck out of there. I would never, in a million years, go to this salon for anything ever again.

MC seems to have had a staff revolt and my stylist and esthetician left, along with the majority of the rest of the staff.
They’ve since been replaced as I’ve been called multiple times by them for an appointment with their new staff at a high discount but I’ve gone elsewhere.
That many employees leaving at one time speaks for itself.
