This state park is very beautiful. There is a paved walk path around the entire lake. It’s nice to just go there and walk around the lake, it’s so peaceful! All of the campsites have fireplaces and picnic tables. There are bathrooms and even showers for the campers. I’ve camped here many times as a child and it was one of my favorite places to go.

This review is for camping. Locust lake is a very pretty park however the rangers are complete assholes. We had 3 generations of campers at 4 different sites, the rangers would not leave us alone. They kept giving us the evil eye like we were all infected with the zombie virus or something. During all interactions, they were completely rude and authoritative. The main ranger seriously has some mental health issues– I am not kidding– I am a therapist. Also their parking rules are ridiculous. We had a family member visit who brought his 90 year old mother. They were only there for a few hours however the rangers would not let them park at our site. They very strictly enforce their only 1 car per site rule. Instead he had to drop off his mother and then drive all the way back to the entrance and walk back. We could have picked him up but he said he would just walk. It took him 30 minutes to get back to our camp. They followed us in their truck and watched us as we went into the camp store and dropped off our trash. When we were packing up to leave we had two cars at our site in order to load our stuff(this is the only time that they will«allow» it) and they repeatedly drove by and told us that we were taking too long. I have never had problems like this at any other PA state park. I will never, ever, go back to this park. They ruined our entire family camping weekend. Its too bad, because the park really is nice.

Locust Lake is a great little state park which is a perfect introduction to camping. Fishing, boating and biking on nice flat trails are the highlights here, as well as swimming on the lake beach. Many families. Sites are large, wooded, and private.
