History

Established in 1997.

The original founders of Apex got together to create a company of elite guides for rock climbing and other technical adventures. The company has guided trips throughout the world, and today focuses on rock climbing trips at Devil’s Lake State Park, throughout the Midwest and Southern Regions of the U.S. Apex has a 100% safety record and has grown to over 10 guides. Any of which will keep you smiling on any adventure.

I just had a private guided top rope climb with Apex Adventure Alliance and could not be happier.
The gear they have you use is top quality and in excellent condition. All of the safety devices are in perfect order and they follow all the excepted standards in securing the anchor points (using 3 and properly placing them). My guide was very proficient in his skills plus he was able to give me pointers to make me a better climber.

A friend and I participated in one of Apex’s Open Group climbs as first-​time climbers. Our guide, Jill, provided us with a little history on Devil’s Lake and background on climbing. She helped us get geared up and taught us basic techniques. Jill was very encouraging, and we had a lot of fun. We can’t wait to climb again!

We really enjoyed our climb with Apex. They were helpful and patient. They were safety conscious and made sure there were safe ratios for belaying. We brought novice experience 10 year olds and they learned a lot and really enjoyed the climbing. Beautiful shady spot in Devil’s Lake, WI that the crew picked for us on a hot summer day! Lynn and Ian were great!

Steve and his son were awesome guides on our family rack climbing trip. His service as a guide was first rate and his conversation was excellent as well. He took us on routes that challenged us newbies while also building our confidence. Definitely recommended outdoor activity if you’re in the area.
