The worst food and horrible service. Stuffy And cheap. How much does lettuce or some bread cost? With so many good Restaurants in the area, avoid this place!

Only had one night in Bar Harbor and wanted a nice dinner and this place was recommended. We were seated by the window and the view was beautiful! The clam chowder was delicious with chunks of potatoes and clams. My husband was not as impressed with his onion soup which was very salty and had more bread than broth. I ordered the fish of the day which was broiled haddock. Fish was very bland and the rice tasted like it came out of a box. I would have asked for tartar sauce but the waitress never returned until much later. My husband liked his prime rib though so at least one of us was full!

My wife and I recently had dinner at the Chart Room and was disappointed, I had the Swordfish Steak. Normally, when I had it at other restaurants the steaks were 1″ or thicker, their steak was about ½″ thick. My wife had the Seafood Medley, and the shrimp and Scallop were not cooked enough. I would not recommend this restaurant!

Salty lobster«stew»(just salty milk and a bit of meat) with bread and a generic Caesar salad … Asked to move inside as it was getting cold … Told there were no «two tops» available… So we left. Saw a few empty tables as we walked away. Too many options to waste your time & dollars.

We ate here a few years ago and did not have lobster because it was during the time the lobster was expensive. But the meal was very good. We sat outside on a deck this visit that was right on the water. We both had the lobster and started with a cup of clam chowder. Sweet Jesus, was that chowder great. The lobster was cooked to perfection and came with a baked potato and veggies. Glad we stumbled onto the Chart Room again. Every animal is allowed on the deck(well, maybe not cows and horses, but certainly dogs). Pleasant, efficient staff, great ambiance, good martinis and fair prices.

Prepare to be nickel and dimed. Stopped in for lunch. Server was friendly but food was mediocre at best, not worth another visit. Icing on the cake was getting charged $ 2 for a tiny side of sauce, which seemed absurd on principal. I mentioned this to server who simply said they charge for everything. Even soda refills.

Good food. Wasn’t blown away by the food but it was decent. The view of the shore really makes this place a gem. I don’t mind the friendly staff either.

We had a pleasant enough dinner at the Chart House. Nothing particularly wrong. Nothing particularly good either. I had just appetizers — French onion soup and an order of stuffed mushrooms. My soup was typical onion soup but could have used more cheese. The stuffing for the mushrooms had good flavor but was a little on the pasty side. My husband was sick of seafood after three days in Maine so he had the angus burger and pronounced it «good.» We shared an apple crisp that was ok but didn’t have a strong apple flavor. What it DID have, however, was an overwhelming cinnamon presence. It was the strongest flavor of the dish. Service was good and the ocean view was worth the price of the meal.

Heard good things about this restaurant. So we had to try it. Went there tonight for dinner. I was craving a lobster roll. I asked my server if the rolled was toasted with butter. She replied yes and stuff with chunks of lobster. When it arrived, the«roll«was no more like a slice of white bread folded and cold. With small pieces of lobster. The manager said«we don’t today the rolls at dinnertime, no room on the griddle. Too bad the server doesn’t know this. My husband had lobster. Nothing special. Will be in the area for another week. WON’T BEGOINGBACKTHERE. THERE’S PLENTYOFOTHERPLACESWITHSEAFOOD.

Awful experience. Our dinner arrived in about 4 minutes as if it had been under a heat lamp. Previously frozen veggies that were luke warm. About 4 little pieces of lobster drowned in butter for $ 26. Rice was not edible. Waitress was in a rush and barely spoke to us. Only good thing was we got to sit on the patio with our dog. Even she wouldn’t eat the rice! Would never go back. Feel ripped off!

Nice service and very nice location overlooking the cove. Their New England Clam Chowder and seafood linguine was excellent!

Nice view and decent food and service. I have no complaints or rave reviews. My steak was tasty but a little too chewy for my taste. My husbands seafood was just ok. May have caught them on an off night. The service was good. I’d probably give them another try.

We ate here because it was close to where we were staying. BIGMISTAKE! Over priced lobster with terrible rice and burnt potatoes. We’re talking about lobsters. I mean we’re in Maine… shouldn’t the lobsters be a little cheaper… and tastier!

We had lunch on my birthday on a glorious day with a beautiful view on the patio. Service was courteous and helpful. Our waiter suggested the lobster stew with my mini lobster roll. It was well seasoned and tasty. The apple crisp dessert with French vanilla ice cream was a favorite for me. My husband appreciated the cheesecake with strawberries, remarking on it being one of the best cheesecakes he’s had. We walked the beach afterwards. This restaurant was a great find!

I’ve been going here more years than I can count– since it was called The Acadia. I’ve watched it expand. Can’t beat the view. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean. I always get boiled lobster or lobster roll, and they haven’t let me down yet.(I used to go for breakfast decades ago when staying at a nearby hotel that no longer exists.) Now it’s my stopping off point when I arrive and/or leave, since it’s reasonably close to the airport. And at my last visit, the service was incredibly fast and waiter just attentive enough. If you want basic food with a great view, this is the place. In Maine, it’s all about the view!(Oh, and their early-bird lobster dinner was way cheaper than in Bar Harbor, at least last week.)

Simply place sucks. Carrots and Peas with dinner, really? What is this Romper room… What else can I say, overcooked fish, ordered a beer and waitress forget, also forgot about wife’s salad and no gluten-free options. Spend money elsewhere…

It was… Ok. We stopped in for some appetizers and wine and I wasn’t terribly impressed. The lobsters and everything were a couple bucks higher than what I had seen elsewhere on the island, the bread was good though! We had the crab cakes, which I wasn’t sure had crab in them(and they were small for being $ 10). The other item we had was the stuffed mushrooms, which were alright(owing to the large amount of cheese), however, again, for $ 10 it was disappointing to get 5 average sized mushrooms. Atmosphere wasn’t anything terribly special, if it wasn’t foggy they would have a great view of the water.

Started with the escargot, then salad with onion soup. Had a ‘special’ — seafood medley atop linguine. All fantastic. Service was prompt.

We went here over the weekend on our trip up in harbor. My husband wanted a lobster dinner. And while driving by we saw the sign for that. Every other place we had saw in Bar Harbor that had a lobster dinner came with all the fixings but this place didn’t so we both opted for the steamers for the app. The steamers were sandy. We then got the Maine Scampi. It was a pricy meal. When we got it there was a good amount of scallops and lobster. But most of my shrimp still had the veins in them which I picked them out because for an expensive dinner they should all be deveined. I pulled out probably around 15 shrimp out or 20 that had veins. For the rest of the scampi it was super water and oily. Something I could have made better at home. For dessert we had the blueberry pie and that was very good. For the waitstaff the waitress wasn’t personable at all. She came to the table gave us waters and then came back like 10 mins later and asked what we wanted for dinner and the. Later took our drink order. I also noticed that she took my left over food to wrap it(we took it because we paid a lot for it and if my husband wanted to picked the seafood out). When she took my food. She bought it back out and brought it to the wrong table. The women at the table put her other food in the bag and then probably 5 minutes later realized that it wasn’t her food when she was looking at the box. The waitress took it and then brought it over to our table and didn’t say anything. From working in the Resturant business this is wrong!!! We ended up throwing the food out. For the most part I really wish that we would have keep driving and are at another spot.

Wow. First night in Bar Harbor and we picked an amazing place out of town(off the beaten path). So glad we did! Started by sharing the lobster bisque and it was so rich and delicious, very rich, so four of us enjoyed it and dipped our fresh bread — yum! I went all out and ordered the surf and turf, with prime rib. Amazing and too much I had to bag it for the hotel! The lobster melted in my mouth! Others in my party had surf and turf with a rib eye, was good but not as great as my prime rib. Baked stuffed haddock with lobster sauce was amazing as well as the seafood sampler. The only thing we’d note is the sides are pretty regular, but who cares, they are filler! I enjoyed the carrots and beans and the rice was fine. A stop not to miss! Enjoy!
