Oli’s Trolley

Two thumbs up! Our guide was adorable. She was an older woman who really knew her facts about Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park. She was a fun narrator who really grabbed your attention and wanted you to understand and love the area as much as she did. She even did an impersonation of Mrs. Stoksbury that was simply adorable.
The tour was 2.5 hours from Bar Harbor and into the national park. We stopped three times to get out and look at the location, take photos and explore. When we got to each location, she offered to come with us to explain things. We followed her into the gardens and learned about carnivorous plants, the bog and all sorts of other vegetation. We also saw thunder rock and all the pink granite lining the area. It was such a perfect fall day and my husband and I got many cute photos of the foliage and the to die for views of the ocean. Open Atlantic is dangerous but so beautiful. We had quite the memorable trip thanks to our guide. Go check them out.

Customer Service totally lacking at the purchase room in Bar Harbor. I wish we had left and not subjected ourselves to such a rude hateful man. If you see a man with reddish hair and not smiling. RUN don’t walk away Go buy online.
The agent told us we were not to talk until he finished the transaction for 2 of us. I handed him my CC then he ask for my credit card

I had taken a tour with Oli’s Trolley on 21 Sept. It was wonderful. The guide we had was very knowledgeable during the whole ride. She knew a lot about the history of the area. I would recommend this trolley ride to anybody thinking of going to Bar Harbor. It is well worth the time.

We took the tour to Northeast Harbor and thru Acadia Park and it was fabulous. Jim was extremely knowledgable about the area and architecture of the homes. We had time to stop and shop/​eat in Northeast Harbor as well as stopping at the marina there and observed some beautiful boats.

We are on vacation and decided to kill some time and learn some things :) so we went on this tour. It was very interesting and the trolley was neat. Definitely would do it again. The driver was very friendly!

My parents love going on tours, so I thought it would be nice to include one in our Maine vacation. Plus, it gave all of us a break from all the driving we were doing. Since there’s so much to do at Acadia, I figured it would be best to do an overview and see highlights of the park, especially since we only had a day and a half in Bar Harbor. Light internet research brought me to Oli’s Trolley, and the rest is history!
From the moment I picked up our tickets at the small kiosk on 1 West Street, I knew we’d be in for a good time, as they had a sign that said «No whining.» The trolley itself was in great condition, had a great speaker system so everyone could hear, was very clean, and had a good heater (it was still a little chilly, even though it was already May.)
Our guide was very informative and cracked a lot of witty jokes, which I was a fan of. He knew the routes of Acadia like the back of his hand, and successfully drove around the park while simultaneously spitting out fun facts and entertaining us with interesting stories.
Unfortunately, we experienced some moody Maine weather in the form of grey skies, fog, and intermittent rain. Although we made it to the peak of Cadillac Mountain, the view was quite underwhelming as it was foggy and we couldn’t see much. The fog also ruined our views of the beautiful homes in Seal Cove. Although we were given some time to take pictures, I refrained from doing so. Sunshine or bust!
If the weather in Bar Harbor is cooperating, I highly recommend that first-​time visitors do the Acadia tour!

If you’ve never been to Bar Harbor, Oli’s Trolley is definitely worth it. They really know their stuff about Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. We took the 2 hour tour which was definitely interesting! I’d highly recommend going on a tour.

We took the one hour Oli’s Trolley tour ($ 15.00 each) from Bar Harbor to Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park in late September. Our driver’s commentary was interesting and informative as he drove us through Bar Harbor and to the top of the mountain. We sat on the front seat as hubby’s hearing aids quit working two days earlier, and we thought he would hear better up front. He did. Cadillac Mountain was our only stop, and the driver told us to be back on the bus in 15 minutes. After walking and taking pictures we returned to see our bus pulling away — without us! We took a later bus back to Bar Harbor, no worse for our adventure. The next day we explored Acadia on our own.

We took the 2−½ hour tour yesterday. If you have the time it is worth yours. Our driver (Paula) knows so much about the area and history that she has all she can do to fit it in to her tour talk. She must be hoarse at the end of the day. It is a great primer to get you started in Acadia and learn the lay of the land in the park and in BH. Great deal.

It seemed like a good thing to do in the rain, but it was not. Their busses have no way to remove the condensation on the windows. We were given paper towels at the start of the tour, but you are at the mercy of the other people on bus to clear their windows. Clearing them only gave you a few secomds to look out. Worse, the driver was having the same problem and his view was fogged over through the front. Did not seem safe at all and part of our tour was watching him stop and wipe off his windsheild over and over.
At thd end the bus let a tour group off at a restaraunt near where we wanted to.go. When we tried to get off the bus he told us to go sit back down since we were not part of the tour.Sheesh. it was pouring rain and we wanted to get out a little closer. We were let off. Not a great trip in the rain.

We went on the one hour tour for $ 15/​person. It was a great way to grasp the history and geography of the island and park before starting to explore on our own.

The 1 hour tour is the perfect length of time and priced well at $ 15. Would highly reccommend it. We got off our cruise ship and had booked the tour in ad vance since they sell out fast. Great views from top of Cadillac Mountain

Tour was good, we had a very nice tour guide. Only 3 on the tour itself, but it was enjoyable. Learned a lot about the history of Bar Harbor. Recommend!

The folks at Oli’s Trolley in Bar Harbor Maine do sightseeing right. From the great customer service from their storefront on the waterfront, to the terrific driver/​guides, you feel very special.
Oli’s offers 2 different tours, a short 1 hr that takes you from downtown Bar Harbor, to the top of Cadillac Mountain, and a longer one, about 2.5 tour that goes along part of the Acadia National Park Loop Road, along with Bar Harbor & Cadillac Mountain.
This is not an on /​off at your leisure all day trolley (like Boston). You sign up for a specific tour time and stay with that ride from start to finish. It’s best to book in advance, they get really busy on the days cruise ships are in the port.

Our tour guide/​driver was a sweet old man named Mike from Buffalo. He was not only an excellent driver, he was very knowledgeable about the area and its rich history.
We rode up to the top of Cadillac Mountain, took pics for 15 minutes, and then headed back. Not bad for $ 15. Next time (if there is one) I will just hike up to the top. We were being lazy.

Great tour and great value. This place was booking up like crazy when we got there right at opening (I think there was more than one cruise ship). I’d looked this company up before we got here and it was just what we were looking for since we’d been to Bar Harbor before. The trolleys really are those cute little trolleys which makes the whole experience kind of adorable. We came at the perfect time of year; it warmed up a bit in the afternoon and the leaves were changing colors in the forests. Everything was beautiful, the weather was amazing, the driver was fun and informative. We couldn’t have asked for a better tour!

This tour was great… it wasn’t their fault that it was raining cats and dogs and that we couldn’t actually SEE anything… it wasn’t their fault that a sight seeing tour was pretty much a listening tour. :) The driver was super friendly and knowledgable. We had a great time… I can now say I stood somewhere where there was a really great view in Acadia National park… but I just got really wet looking at rain. Fun though! If they could control the weather, I’d give them 5 stars!
