Hadley’s Point Campground

Friendly, 3^rd generation family owned and operated campground. Clean bathrooms/​showers and well maintained sites, which include tent sites, RV sites and even some little cabins. A nice pool with great hours and a playground for the little ones. Lots of bikes zooming around too. They even have a dinner service on site, which I believe said something about lobsters. A very short drive into the Bar Harbor Village but far enough away to get peaceful sleep. This is our choice for camping on MDI and we would definitely return again!

Campground is clean, bathrooms are clean. The sites are a little on the small side, but not ridiculous. The pool is clean. The store is a little bare. I would come back. The price is right.

You get what you pay for at this campground. It’s very reasonably priced, but the sites are small and most open up to a huge field creating little privacy. Bathrooms were cleanish considering the sheer amount of people there, but 50 cents for 7 minutes of shower time? You’re killing me smalls. I had just come from a campground where I paid a quarter for 10 minutes so I nearly had a heart attack.
It’s very crowded in peak season, mostly families with small kids so you’re awakened to the sounds of children playing.
Wifi was a total joke so don’t expect to get on the internet most of the time.
Stayed here 3 nights and was glad to be gone, but if you’re looking for a cheap place to rest your head for a night, I’d say go for it. If you’re looking for a peaceful, nature filled vacations spot, this is not the campground you’re looking for, move along…

We loved it!
We rented a cabin the weekend after memorial day weekend. The price for the cabin was a little over $ 100 for two nights, and it was pet friendly. The cabin looks brand new, like we’d been the first to stay there. It was very clean (not a single bug) and we had plenty of space. We loved that the cabins come with their own bathroom – I’m six months pregnant and need the restroom constantly. We also appreciated the outside electricity that we could have used to plug in a coffee maker (but we forgot it, so we didn’t use it). The parking was ample, our cabin was set apart from others (#12), and there was a fire pit with a removable grate over it. We could not have been happier!
We went during a quiet time, so the pool wasn’t ready for use yet, and the shuttles weren’t running into town yet. But I’d bet the shuttles are super convenient when the season gets going.
It looks like they’re either building or renovating a basketball court, and putting up a play ground too. Great for families – even the dogs.
Minutes away from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia Nat’l park. We had a blast!
We will absolutely stay here again!

I’ve stayed at Hadley’s Point twice and have nothing but good things to say about this place.
The first trip was in 2008 and we camped in a tent. We stayed in lot D and it was a nice spot, kind of an open field, but camp spots were all along the outside of the field and it felt quiet cozy. It is so reasonably priced!!! Cheapest campground in bar harbor, you really can’t beat the price.
The second trip was August 2013 and we slept in my Honda element instead of a tent. I had only planned on staying one night when I booked three weeks prior to going. We got spot B35 and we loved it! A cute little nook of a spot! It was again very cheap and reasonable compared to the other campgrounds in the area. The people who run and own the campground are soooooooo nice! Very very sweet! We decided to stay another night and they only had 1 spot available and were able to get us into a different spot. This spot was D30 (back in the lot I stayed in in 2008). It was a water/​electric spot so it was 12.00 more than the tent spot we had the night before that didn’t have any of those things. We were happy to pay it, because again it is still cheaper than the other campground prices. This spot didn’t have a fire ring when we first got there and we didn’t know you had to ask for one. We made a fire and about an hour after the guy who patrols the grounds came over and commented on our nice fire and said we needed a ring. He and his helper got a ring out of his tiny (clownlike truck) and contained our fire. He was really nice about the whole thing!
Overall I love this campground and will for sure go back again the next time I go to bar harbor.

What more can you ask for when car camping? Cheap, accessible, all the necessary amenities close at hand, Hadley’s Point has it all. I would definitely stay here again. Plus a shuttle that’ll even take you into town.

An excellent low-​budget option for the Acadia/​Bar Harbor area.
After an especially rough rainy morning, a fellow camper came by with some gratis coffee that went a long way towards salvaging the day.

We have just returned from our first trip to Bar Harbor this year. We made the trip twice last summer also. We have stayed at Hadley’s Point campground on all three occasions. The people that own the place are all very nice. We absolutely love this campground and is the only place we will stay at. It is close to Bar Harbor, Trenton and Ellsworth, very convenient ! Their prices are reasonable also. There is also a fellow who sells fresh seafood across the street from the Hadley Point Road ! We love the campground which makes are visits much more enjoyable. We will be back soon !!!
