Anne’s White Columns Inn in Bar Harbor Maine, is an impressive downtown Georgian bed and breakfast, and located in the Historical Corridor near Acadia National Park. Upon entering through the columned portico, one is greeted by the Victorian elegance of the foyer and salon. The huge fireplace is often crackling in spring and fall. The large wicker attired porch provides a peaceful setting for a leisurely breakfast, or your glass of wine and cheese during those long summer afternoons. The spacious grounds are a haven from the downtown activity but still convenient to the shops and restaurants.
History
Established in 1986.
Anne’s White Columns Inn was built in 1930 as a Christian Science Church. It was purchased by Anne Bahr who turned the building in to a ten room bed and breakfast in 1986. Anne and her husband Bob continue to run the inn serving a full breakfast each morning and afternoon wine and cheese. The inn is in the heart of Bar Harbor and only two blocks from the restaurant and shopping district. Each bedroom has a full bath, flat panel cable TV, WIFI and central air.
