I was represented by Weinstock, Friedman & Friedman through LegalShield (previously known as Pre-​Paid Legal Services), and my experiences were downright awful. Together with LegalShield, Weinstock, Friedman & Friedman scammed me out of years of legal service membership for nothing. Avoid!
In the beginning of my membership, I received little assistance for a few smaller matters. However, in May 2014, I had serious food poisoning from a restaurant and needed help seeking medical reimbursement. According to my first representing lawyer at Weinstock, Friedman & Friedman, my case sounded like a routine case of seeking a liability claim on the restaurant’s insurance. My lawyer wrote a letter to the restaurant’s lawyer to get the process going. However, my lawyer changed shortly thereafter, and my new lawyer basically said nothing further could be done without purchasing the services of retaining a Weinstock, Friedman & Friedman lawyer to pursue this simple case any further because the restaurant’s lawyer was intentionally dodging any attempts of communication (both by letter and phone). Truly baffling is the fact that my lawyer at Weinstock, Friedman & Friedman claimed that the restaurant’s lawyer was the only one at his firm who was allowed to be in charge of the case. After confirming with my lawyer friends, it was clear that this was false. After over 1.5 years of nothing being done, I cancelled my LegalShield membership.
