Was my go to breakfast/brunch place back when I lived in the city. Gravy and biscuits ruled. Bacon and cheese omelet was DABOMB. Would both return and recommend.

You know, I thought I was«charmed» by New Wyman Park’s rough and ready charm for multiple visits over two years but no: it’s Pete’s for me. The food is fine. But there’s a sick sort of cruelty at work behind the counter and I spent the morning pitying the waitresses who have to deal with the petty but scary verbal tyranny of the main line cook and the awful, mean tone of the conversation: EFF this and EFF that and bad mouthing customers as they’re spotted approaching the restaurant. The lead bad karma chief is the line cook, the man of much experience and who has been so wounded over time that he wants to wound everyone who comes within his vicinity. He’s bad for business, literally. SO angry, non-stop. Why would I want to look at him and try to enjoy my meal? And I’m disappointed in the man who may not be the owner but is persistently the manager on duty: he’s right there with the line cook, EFFing this and EFFing that and the customers who are their favorites are the grim rednecks who mirror their language and attitudes. At Pete’s NOONE would be allowed to cuss and hate, much less behind the counter. Pete’s is respectable. New Wyman Park is just… NOT. There are just SO many scrambled eggs and bacon to be had in Baltimore, why in the world come to this hole? I can’t wait for it to fade, and fade, and fade as Remington rises. No hipsters are going to come to this hot spot for hatred. People need to stop coming here. I know I have, effective today.

I agree with Gonzo. I can tell this place was full of locals that clearly have not eaten anywhere else. This place is horrible! If you want quality, don’t eat here. I wanted to go to Petes grille but stopped here because it was closer to my job! Complete waste if time and money. Potatoes were horrible. How do you f***that up? Eggs were slathered in cheese so much that I couldn’t taste the egg. The Toast was soaked in butter bro, soaked!!! The meat was soggy and dry. You want quality for literally the same price then go to Petes Grille or Stone Restaurant.

Finally swung by for breakfast. Solid place with the usual breakfast staples, though I was disappointed to see the lack of combo platters. Those are, after all, a MUST for any breakfast fanatic! Pricing is a tad uneven, with some things a relative bargain while others(egg platter) seemed overpriced by comparison. As others have stated, this place is classic and old school, and not in the least bit stylish or hip. But it’s cool from the perspective of the clientele representing a fairly good cross section of Bawlmer. As for my breakfast, the bread on my sandwich was a tad burnt in one place, and the scrapple was a bit thicker than what I prefer. Service was fine, though the guy that seemed like the main cook ended up notifying a waitress of my presence since he saw I was waiting. All in all, a true Baltimore experience!

It’s not pretty or fancy. So don’t go expecting that. Go for really good breakfast and lunch. Pancakes, waffles French toast and sandwiches. The staff is always the same set of people, it makes you feel like you could be home. Everyone is friendly, service is fast. Food is cheap. And they have bacon platters… why wouldn’t you visit them? What’s good? Mostly all of the breakfast items, Corned beef hash, turkey club, hot roast beef platter, hot turkey platter, reubens. The soups are so so. French fries with chicken or beef gravy. They close pretty early and aren’t open on Sundays. So for me to get here is like a treat. Do I enjoy this place better than Pete’s and Jimmy’s? Yep. The same customers come here for years and it’s a reason why… And they have bacon platters. I know I’ve already mentioned that, but it’s bacon.

Service was quick and friendly. The food is very reasonably priced. The eggs and corned beef hash was very good. The coffee was hot and I never saw the bottom of my cup(very nice). Best for last, the French toast is absolutely amazing! Takes a bit of time to cook but well worth the wait.

I like their veggie omelette and coffee. For some reason it drips from the take out box. Otherwise it’s great. I hate that it’s closed on sundays. Update: I have been getting burnt breakfast from this place so 4 stars reduced to 3

Great diner. Nothing fancy but good vibes and every time I’ve been both the staff has been really nice and the people eating there have always seemed like regulars. Homey vibe with quintessential diner food that isn’t expensive. Definitely the place in the city to go to for a nice hungover breakfast.

Peeps, this is a REAL diner. Like, not a pretend-farm-to-table-we-want-to-be-a-diner-but-this-is-a-hipster-diner-diner. Which is refreshing. Sit next to locals, cops, get your coffee, greasy breakfast, and enjoy the fact that you’re living in Baltimore, the greatest city in ‘merica.

A cheap greasy spoon that is great for breakfast. Small counter with a few booths. They close early, but serve cheap breakfast in the meantime. Looks like they have been there forever.

I was not impressed by the food but the place has been around forever and I have a lot of respect for local diners like this. Hope to try it again someday and enjoy it.

This is your typical, run-of-the-mill Baltimore breakfast joint. The menu is just like every other place and the food is … adequate. It isn’t bad. It isn’t especially good. If your goal is to stop being hungry without having to cook, great. If you’re looking for a good breakfast, there are other choices. The home fries are what Baltimore eats: some sort of potato simmered in oil without particular flavor or hint of crispy edges. I don’t understand the appeal, myself, being a HUGE hashbrowns guy — I mention this only to make my bias clear — but these are just okay. The prices are what I don’t understand. $ 7.50ish for an average mediocre omelet with aforementioned home fries is a bit much, but coffee hovers close to two bucks, and the menu lists the boxes of cereal lined on a shelf above the counter(the little ones we ate as kids) for $ 2.50ish — what? Seriously?

Nice and satisfying diner experience! Among us, we got hotcakes, grits, eggs, and ham steak. It was all really well done. I still can’t explain it, but the hotcakes were more than just sweet — they had some kind of really rich savory element to them. I noticed gyros, plus quite a bit of variety on an impressively full menu. Prices were fantastic! The waitresses and a couple of cooks behind the counter were all friendly, talkative, and looked glad to be there. A nice hometown atmosphere. I’m bringing out-of-town friends here next time they visit for a good morning send-off! You can’t tell from the outside, but there is plenty of room in here with a lot of booths to choose from.

Saturday morning. Looking to Unilocal for help with finding a decent breakfast spot. We came across this place. Our breakfast choices came out quickly, hot and delicious. I’m from the South, so I look for grits on a breakfast menu. They were perfectly cooked. Eggs perfect. My lady’s home fries were good. Prices very reasonable. We’ll be back!

One of the best things I love about the breakfast at Wyman Park is that they have GRITS!!! Not too many establishments do grits anymore. Freshly made to order; hot and not too watery. And the ham is REALHAM!!! at least 3/8″ thick; more like a «Ham Steak». And of course the price is right!

No complaints. Best home fries I’ve had in a very long time. Ordered the Greek omelet w feta, tomato, onion. Delicious! Chefs greeted my boyfriend and me from behind the bar upon arrival. Home-y atmosphere, friendly people, fast service, delicious and cheap food. Ill be back!

I went to this place after reading some of the reviews and I was a little disappointed. I ordered the French toast platter and one side was slightly gummy and it had no flavor. I wasn’t expecting fancy but I was expecting better than that. The western omelette my friend had looked good but she said it needed some seasonings. However the staff was friendly and I enjoyed the banter between what I took as a regular customer and the cook. The prices aren’t bad but they are on the higher side for me.
