The Mitre Box specializes exclusively in custom framing. We offer a huge selection of frames, including hand finished, metal, wood, gold leaf, contemporary, traditional and period. Archival practices are used to ensure the protection of your artwork for years to come. In addition, we offer hand wrapped fabric mats, French mats, painted glass mats, custom mirrors, canvas stretching and custom shadow boxes.

History

Established in 1972.

The Mitre Box was started by Jean Trout over 40 years ago. As a graduate of the Schuler School of Fine Art she was able to use her skills and creativity to bring customers framing designs to life. After a long and successful career Jean retired in 2012, leaving Deborah Fox, a Mitre Box designer, to take over the reigns. The Mitre Box continues to maintain the integrity, reputation and exceptional framing for which it has always been known.
