Love the design, care and time spent on my natural hair which is extremely important to me!!! Not over crowded at all and was a perfect birthday surprise from my husband!!! Loving the price, people, aesthetics, attention and timing!!! Sam gave me to date the best shampoo and conditioner experience I have ever received!!! The time and care he took with my natural hair is beyond wonderful and appreciated!!!

Marquis is EVERYTHING. I went in today with 3 – 4 inch untrained natural hair (my own fault) and he completely turned it out. My hair looks and feels more silky and smooth than it’s ever felt. Everyone in the salon was so friendly and personable — we all shared a few laughs. The soundtrack was fun — from Juicy J to Lana del Rey… I was in and out within an hour and a half and I must co-​sign with everyone else’s reviews: Sam werked that scalp massage OUT.
Not one bad thing to say about Stylelab. I will be back in 2 weeks to get my train on. Heads up, though — his coins must come in cash.

Marquis is GREAT! I have natural hair and when I left after a wash, flat iron, and trim, my hair was soft, shiny, healthy and bouncy. Unfortunately, I know longer live in Baltimore, but if I did, I’d go to JM.

I start off all my nail/​hair salon reviews saying this (sorry if I sound like a robot!) but I am very particular about cleanliness and customer service. After looking at the rave reviews of Style Lab posted on Unilocal,I called and booked an appointment. Be aware — you are calling the owner personally, so do not be thrown off if the person answering does not say «Hello! Style Lab!» when they answer. I thought I had the wrong number and started to hang up! Also, driving up to the salon, I could not see the bay window when I was parking and initially thought I had navigated to the wrong address (it is a bit difficult to see the sign until you are up on it). Not to worry! Once I entered into the salon, my mind was put to rest by the cleanliness and friendly owner and staff. The ONLY bad part of my visit was that Sam scrubbed my head like I had never had a wash before — I know not to eat my lunch before coming in! But he got my hair very clean and was very friendly, but not too chatty (another pet-​peeve of mine). Marquis did an amazing job blowing out and flat ironing my hair. I am so picky about my hair it is not even funny, but I left there very satisfied. I will definitely be back.

Marquis was AWESOME. An expert at giving you the right cut for your hair type. A natural with the scissors and great healthy hair advice. His asst. Sam is great too, giving an amazing head massage with my shampoo. The salon is nice with a warm, cozy and friendly vibe. I definitely will be returning.

My stylist Charles is the best. I have been with him 8 years. All of the stylists the
re are great. Give Charles a call at 443−627−1455 and he will have your hair flowing !

Style lab is AWESOME! John Marquis will have your hair looking like a billion dollars. Marquis gives such an amazing cut that once a top rate stylist commented on the wonderful cut of my hair. When I want my hair looking fantastic I know who to call and where to go… To John Marquis at Style Lab

The Style Lab has got to be the best Salon in the city. The Stylist are great and the atmosphere is pleasant. I like it because there is never any «overbooking» and you wont find a bunch of people sitting on top of one another waiting to be seen for hours. My appts usually run 1 ½ to 2 hours on a good day. My Stylist is Charles Underwood and over the years we have developed a wonderful «hair» relationship and I cant imagine anyone else doing my hair… well except maybe Marquis, but it’s all good. I get compliments on my hair all the time and I dont mind sharing my stylist.

My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE hair salon/​stylist John Marquis!!! I have been going to JM for over 10 years — he is the master of natural hair… my hair just grows and grows because he not only knows how to style, but knows how to keep my hair healthy… his cuts are extraordinary!!! His salon is very contemporary with modern fixtures and an unpretentious laid back feel… LOVE JM and his recently opened Style Lab… No matter where I move I don’t want to trust anyone else with my hair! Oh and I can’t forget about Toni who does natural hair styles for the dreadheads and twists folks… Toni uses a range of natural products on the hair such as olive oil and mangoes that make hair/​scalp healthy but also help for her to create cute styles! and last but not least Marquis’s assistant Sam knows how to work his hands with the scalp massage when you get a shampoo… love love love them all!!!
