Stafford Apartments

Couldn’t be happier with my experience so far. Facilities are clean, staff is always friendly and alert. After living in a few different places in Baltimore, it’s nice to find one that is clean and well managed.

While it’s not perfect, I think Stafford Apartments still deserves five stars because it’s great at being what it is. Some of the floor plans are a little odd, and there are small problems such as a sticky closet door, difficulty regulating water temperature in the shower, and slow elevators. But it’s clean, has a little gym and music practice room complete with a piano, friendly and responsive staff, respectful tenants, cool building, and an unbeatable location. Good value for a good price! I’ve lived in three different apartment buildings in Baltimore, and am definitely happiest at Stafford.

The building is located at a very convenient spot. It is 1 minute walk from the shuttle stop to the main campus and 2 minutes walk from the shuttle stop for the medical campus and there are many great restaurants within a walking distance. In addition to the convenience, it’s surrounded by the beautiful history Mt. Vernon. If you get a unit in upper levels you will be able to enjoy the awesome view of the area.
However, this is a very old building that needs more careful attention in terms of maintenance. The elevators are VERY unstable and stops working pretty often. I once was stuck in one of the elevator units and it WAS very scary. Also, the temperature in the building is not well controlled. Sometimes my unit was too hot and sometimes too cold. I met several residents who complained about the abnormal temperatures. The building doesn’t have its own parking lot and if you own a car you need to get a spot from the nearby parking lots within a few blocks.
The management staff are friendly in general. One of the new staff member seems pretty new to the job and sometimes the communication with her was not as straightforward as I wished, though.
