Seadog Cruises – Baltimore

I had a ball on this ride. This boat picks up a lot of speed and if u wearing a hat or wig u better hold on tight to it or in the water it goes lol. Very enjoyable

Great fun. Our tour guide kept things interesting. She might want to turn the volume down on the mic though.

I got the chance to come to Baltimore while my boyfriend was in town for business and I spent one day in the city exploring on my own. I went down to the Inner Harbor area of the city and was pleasantly surprised by how pretty this part of the city is. It was nice, clean and tourist friendly.
I took a speed boat type cruise when I was in SF recently and enjoyed it, so I was excited to find they had one in Baltimore and decided to take it. Seadog Cruises is $ 20 and I’d recommend booking online early and picking up your ticket the day of. Totally worth the $ 20!
The first 20ish minutes of the cruise the tour guide will point out different landmarks and buildings of the city. I found that to be pretty cool. Then the last 30ish minutes of the tour the boat becomes a «speed boat». It was really fun going super fast, with songs blaring and the water splashing you. I had fun and was smiling like a little kid.
I’d recommend Seadog Cruises if you don’t like the traditional «cruise», have a shorter attention span, like adrenaline rushes and don’t get sea sick. This cruise is so fun!

I’ve done SeaDog is Chicago before and it was great. However, this experience in Baltimore is quite frankly damaging to their brand. The PA system was awful and the guide spent more time telling awful jokes than he did explaining the things we were passing. Don’t waste your $ 25.

My kids loved it!!! My 7 year old said he wants to remember the day forever. I do recommend bringing a rain jacket, no matter what the temperature is because you will get cold and possibly wet.
We purchased the 4^th of July cruise so we stayed on the boat out in the river a bit longer to view the fireworks from the harbor. The crew was very friendly and funny with their stand-​up comedy and they kept us entertained. We purchased our tickets online and checked in at the booth early to receive our tickets so it was a seamless process.
The only reason I didn’t give this a 5 star is because the speed portion was short. Our ticket prices were extremely high because it was the 4^th of July cruise with no discount for the kid’s tickets as there usually is with the day cruises. We spent about 10 – 15 minutes on the speed portion but about 2 hours total on the boat including the half hour fire works show. There was also a delay from the coast guard which held us up for another half hour while they reopened the harbor.
I’m glad our family tried it once for the experience, but because of the price we wouldn’t do the fire works cruise again — still, no regrets. We would consider the daytime ride in the future and hope you will extend the speed portion. Thank you!!!

I admit, Seadog offers a fun experience. That is why I purchased Living Social coupons to use on an upcoming family trip to Baltimore. Unfortunately, Seadog wouldn’t accept my Vouchers because of the busier than usual Star-​Spangled Spectacular. Yes, the voucher terms read that it can’t be used on holidays. But I didn’t know the 200^th anniversary of the national anthem was a major holiday (though it was a remarkable event in Baltimore). Seadog wouldn’t even accept the vouchers at face value where we would pay the difference for a regular price ticket. I despise companies like this. At least Living Social will credit my unused vouchers.

It’s fun, but I think it would be better if the guide and captain weren’t trying to do stand-​up comedy. I don’t mean it should be flat and boring, I’m not opposed to humor, but at least that night, i could have done without so much of it. Secondly, the barking at people on land (and by the captain at the beginning) may be fun for kids, but it’s just lame for adults. As for the cruise itself, it was enjoyable. We were out on a perfect evening for it. The «wake free» part of the cruise is kind of long, but there’s nothing they can do about that. When they opened up the throttle, it was fun without feeling like it was on the edge of losing control (a good thing). There were some folks fishing around the island the use as the turnaround point who probably didn’t appreciate us passing by, but it was neat to see the birds on the island and the Francis Scott Key buoy.
So, while the attempts at comedy were mildly annoying, it’s still worth trying at least once.

This was definitely worth a try. The sun was shining, the music was blaring, the water was splashing (thankfully not at us), and it was awesome! They tell you to sit to the front if you want to get wet, but it didn’t seem like anyone got wet the entire boat ride, which was fine with me. I think the kids (not mine) were a little disappointed though.
The crew was great and they give active duty military discounts. Yup! I will be bringing other people back with me next summer. Because who wants to play pirate ship (in another venue) when you can go fast with the Seadog?!

If you have little kids: STAY AWAY!
We had a horrific experience aboard the vessel. We ended up so soaking wet that we had to leave the inner harbor and cut our vacation short. I’m guessing the captain thought it would be funny to turn the vessel from side to side forcing water to come in the boat at a full stream. It felt like buckets of water were being dumped on us. At one point both myself and my 7 year old were unable to catch our breath. We were told when we boarded that we «may» get wet especially where we are seated but we wouldn’t be «soaked». The water was so intense it almost flooded my iPhone which was in my purse. We wanted to see the rest of the harbor but had to head out to the hotel because both kids were freezing and soaking wet.
The initial speed portion of the ride was very nice. We did get somewhat wet, nothing more then you would expect being on a speedboat. However, by the time we were done our clothes and hair were so wet we were actually sitting in puddles. There was a poor elderly woman near our seats that looked scared to death and her family was actually holding her. My kids are still talking about how much they hated the boat!
I would recommend not letting 20 something year old run your business because they ruined a perfectly otherwise enjoyable experience with their immature antics.

I had a good time on the boat but you have to be prepared to get wet, make sure you sit strategically if you don’t want to be wet. It was overall an okay experience. The tour guide was eccentric which I found highly entertaining, but some people didnt feel the same. Kids would love it, its a very nice break in the day if you’re looking to sit back and relax a bit.

Thanks for plowing through the sailboat fleet Tuesday nights. Maybe have some consideration.

almost 5 stars, although i thought we were on some «bro» jet boat, considering the captain and assistant were under 25 years of age. very action packed and fun 1 hour tour. totally worth the walk up price of $ 25 per head. can’t beat that! went on a warm and sunny Baltimore day, so nice out. tour starts out slow, and as you learn from bro#1, it’s because you have to head out aways before you can zooooooommmmm! and zoooommmmeed we did. you zoom out (can be bumpy/​choppy) to some big bridge, then turn back. we would do this again, as it was a lot of fun.

The boat ride was fun and we’re glad that we bought the Groupon (half priced tickets). It was exhilarating when the boat started to move fast! I was in the 3^rd row by the railing so I got a bit wet, but the wind seemed to dry me off by the time we docked. Our guide was SUPER cheesy, but ok I guess. I understand that is what this type of tourist trap calls for… Overall it was worth it just because we like boat rides.
One note for the company (if they ever look at these reviews)…They need to help the guy who booked my tickets over the phone… He came nowhere close to spelling my name right and it’s not typically a difficult name to spell. I tried to repeat it to him on the phone because I could tell that he wasn’t recording it correctly. OOF. I guess it didn’t matter because I was able to pick up my tickets without issue, but we had a good laugh with the young woman handing them out when she saw my ID and found me on the list. I imagine that it will be more of a pain for the people on the dock once it gets busier.

We were in town with my daughter and her friends and went on an afternoon ride. It was fantastic. Captain Darryl (I think that was his name) was fun and told us some great facts about the city. Things you wouldn’t see from the street. Did YOUUU know that the dot in the Domino’s Sugar sign was over 6′ tall? Me neither!
When we got free of the no wake zone the music went up and we rocketed out all the way to the Key Bridge. The wake jumping figure 8s were the girls’ favorite part.
The music was plenty loud in speed mode and appropriate for the kids. Can you say Journey Moment at 45mph (guessing) with your face about 2′ off the water? Me and the kids can!
If you have visitors in town or just need a new adventure that leaves you with a great story, this is it!

Fast looking boat, fun tour guide, most of the time was in no wake zone. Boat didn’t go nearly as fast as it looked. Maybe 40 Knots. It was nice however seeing the Baltimore harbor area.

I bought a groupons so me, my boyfriend and my mom who was visiting town could go. I don’t think it’s worth the full price, but we enjoyed it.

I was looking for a fun thing to do with my little brothers who were visiting from out of town. It is so hard to find something to do to entertain teenage boys other than feeding them! A friend suggested a Seadog cruise and we had a blast! The MC «G» was great and a very entertaining tour guide. Got a beautiful (different) view of the city that I have lived in for the last 6 years. They are even dog friendly! We did get wet but we had so much fun. I will definitely keep this up my sleeve to entertain guests and show off my beautiful city!

The Seadog speedboat tour was really fun (minus the group of 75 kids on a school field trip!). We had a pretty cool captain (Damian) and a funny tour guide (Kevin). The tour starts off slow until they get to the point where they can increase the speed and then the boat goes up to 45mph. We sat in the very front and got splashed a little bit, but it felt really good in the 90+ degree weather! They also give you a bottle of water upon boarding the boat.
They have a parking special when you buy tickets for the tour, you only pay $ 6 to park in a hotel parking garage nearby and it’s good for 10 hours so we were able to park cheap and stay down by the water and go into the Baltimore Aquarium in that time. If you’re there on a weekend, I’d suggest buying tickets in advance for this. We originally tried to take the sunset tour on a Friday night but it was sold out. This is definitely something I’d do again!

Welcome to the latest installment of «Interesting Dating Experiences».
Being in the DMV for some time now and having lived in different parts, it’s always nice to show newcomers areas and attractions they’ve yet to experience. One such experience is going to the Harbor in Baltimore. While Baltimore itself is not necessarily an attractive tourist spot, the Harbor totally makes it so due to the views, scenery, the Baltimore Aquarium, etc. So what better way to expose someone to Baltimore’s crown jewel than by taking a cruise?
Not just satisfied with any cruise, the Seadog is a speedboat cruise I made reservations and bought tickets for. Hey, you know guys like to «move fast» on dates! (Sorry I couldn’t resist the bad joke)
The Seadog is a colorfully designed boat that is advertised online as part of the Harbor cruise attractions. Basically you make your reservations and pay for tickets online, which are about $ 20 a piece. While that’s the recommended method of things, you could also just show up at the harbor and buy tickets from the little ticket booth with the sign that says «Seadog Cruises». Unless it’s a major holiday and the place is packed, seating should be available without reservations.
The speed boat is moderately sized and probably seats 50 people max. As you approach the boat’s entrance you are greeted by some employees who offer to take pictures (there is a charge if you want pics from their professional photographer). The tour lasts about 45 – 50 minutes and offers interesting historical information coupled with good humor from the cruise guide. The boat reaches top speeds of 50 – 55 mph, which is fantastic on a particularly hot day. The views from the boat are great and it’s a very relaxing experience taking everything in.
Irony hits as the cruise guide lets us know that the «speed» portion of the cruise was about to begin. He starts the spiel about keeping all possessions secure, yada yada yada and mentions «weaves» in that statement. Most of the other customers (including myself) chuckle and off we go. Next thing I know, my date grabs the back of her head. I ask her if she’s been shot and she says «No, I have a weave on». Now, in my limited knowledge of hair accessories I’ve always known weaves to be sewn in. In late breaking news, clip-​on weaves exist and this just in… they don’t do well in 50+ mph winds.
Being the nice guy that I am, I figured that my date holding her head was only drawing odd looks… well because we were getting odd looks… so I had the bright idea of placing my hand on the back of her head to give off the impression of romantic touching. It was really a courageous act on my part and for those who are not aware, I’ll explain why. In chapter 3 of «The Black Guy’s Rulebook», it specifically defines the act of touching a «sista’s» hair as a punishable offense and one that comes with the possibility of a loss of fingers. For further reference on the subject matter, see Chris Rock’s movie «Good Hair».
As the odd looks died down and unidentified hair strands remained in place under my hand, everything seemed to be going well. Going well? That would be too easy right? Right! No sooner than when I started to relax did her eyelash zip off of her eye and into the water. Oh dang, we polluted!
In closing, the Seadog Cruise is a really nice experience and worth the money. As I learned the hard way, weaves and other attachable accessories are not recommended on this cruise or should be secured using super glue or a staple. For any patrons that were with us on the cruise… you’re welcome for the unbeWEAVEable show!

I had a Groupon that was expiring by the end of September, so we made a reservation for the 1^st excursion on a Sunday. Living in Baltimore, I sometimes don’t do the touristy thing, but this was fun to see Baltimore from a different angle. I called an 800 number to reserve our tour time — call in ahead of time to guarantee a tour time.
Check in is right at the boat which is located right at the inner harbor between the Baltimore Tourism building and the Light Street Pavilion. You’ll hear «Who Let the Dogs Out» playing over the speakers, so you can’t miss it. When you arrive, check in and get in line, you have a better chance of choosing your desired seat. Per the captain, those closest to the railing and near the back will most likely get wet. I sat in the 4^th row from the front at the railing and never got wet.
At the top of the hour, we headed out of the harbor after a greeting from the captain, the guide and a brief «woof» to the bystanders. The guide pointed out some interesting facts about the harbor, Baltimore skyline, etc. Thank goodness we were seated on the right side of the boat as the tour guide pointed out points of interest on the right. Once we passed Fort McHenry, the captain opened up the engine, turned up the high energy music and took us on our high speed ride out to the Key Bridge. We made a turn before the Key Bridge and then headed back to the inner harbor. Making our way back into the harbor, you can see Baltimore’s amazing skyline, boats, and attractions.
I’d recommend this trip for those who haven’t seen Baltimore from the water, those with a short attention span, those who aren’t looking for a historical tour and those who like speed. My friend said that she felt safe the entire ride (all seats have seat belts) which helped her enjoy the tour.
