This was probably the fifth time I had to call roto-​rooter because of my gas water heater. But out of all the technicians I met, Rohming (#3468) was the best technician.
Rohming was very polite and thorough with his work. We did not have accessto hot water for about 4 days and he was very sympathetic and did his best to make sure that we got hot water as soon as possible. He personally called the water heater company to order the parts and picked them up himself. He came the next day and spent about two hours fixing the water heater and made sure up to three times that everything was okay. If using roto-​rooter, I would recommend asking for Rohming if he is available.

With all the rain we have had this year we had an ongoing problem with our sump pump. Purcell was out within an hour of us calling (mind you it was Christmas eve eve). He was friendly, polite and knowledgable. He didn’t try to upsell or try to confuse us, as some businesses try to do. We will be calling him for all our plumbing needs. Call him today! I woke up to find a mess in our downstairs bathroom. I called RR and the customer service was great. She said we would get a call 30 mins prior to the plumber coming out. He (dont remember his name, but he was very nice) called and with in 20 minutes he arrived. He was here for about 2 hours. Overall we had prompt service and we were very pleased. I would recommend RR to anyone.

The appointment was simple to make (online), and an appointment was available about 2 hours in the future which was great. He technician came within the window, and took less than an hour to snake the drain. He was friendly as well. However the snaking was *way* too expensive, compared to most other companies. It did come with a 6-​month warranty though, so it could be worse…

called the 1800-​get-​roto number and i was dispatched a tech the same day within 3 hours! Van was my tech and he was very friendly, courteous and professional. did i mention thorough? I had a main drain that was clogged very badly at about 70′ and he barreled right through it with his drain snake machine. great service! Thanks Van and Roto Rooter!

The serviceman was great and fixed the problem quickly. I thought the price for putting a snake in my shower drain was incredibly high.

I called Roto Rooter when my S.O. wasn’t able to clear a clogged pipe after 5 hours of effort (!!!). I was just walking in the door and the kitchen was a mess. I called three «24» places, but Roto Rooter was the only one to pick up. They could have come out in 2 hours, (around 2 a.m.) but since the water leaking was finally under control, we opted to have them come the next morning.
The tech showed up promptly and cleared our clog in about an hour (it was really deep into the pipes) and reassembled the pipes we had disassembled. He ensured that the repair worked and cleaned up after himself. The price seemed high to me ($ 399), but on the positive side, they were prompt, efficient, got the job done, and could have had arrived within two hours of me calling, which would been around 2 a.m.

Friday night I called Roto-​Rooter to fix a backed up tub.
My bathroom sink was backing up into the tub.
I was happy that the technician arrived at my home as expected. I was even happier that the call center kept me updated with his estimated time of arrival. I live in Temple Hills, MD and the plumber/​tech was coming from Waldorf, MD
The technician arrives, looks at the problem area, gives me an estimate, «fixes» the problem, tells me what he did, sells me a drain cleaning solution, gives me a 6 month warranty on the work performed and leaves. I’m guessing that he got in his truck and immediately called in my credit card. wow!
Here’s where the problem comes in:
My son took a shower as soon as I cleaned up my bathroom after the technician leaves and the water is running really slow down the drain. My husband took a shower Saturday morning and the drain is back to how it was prior to the plumber coming out.

After a few calls and having a 2^nd technician come out — a 3^rd technician arrives and the work is done as expected with no additional charge.
Lisa (call center) and Ed (manager) vowed to make sure that my experience was a happy one. They both lived up to that and for that I am grateful.
I WOULD definitely use them again and again.

It was Saturday night. The rain was pouring and my basement was flooding in NW DC. Within 24 hours the Baltimore RotoRooter crews (plumbing and cleanup) had stopped the flooding and thoroughly cleaned the affected area. Within a few days they were able to repair the faulty underground pipe. Very pleasant to work with and very efficient. The cleanup crew promised to work with my homeowners insurance to make sure I was covered for the damage… ALL GOOD until it came to the bill. Despite their promise that they would accept the estimate of my homeowner’s insurance company, they refused, charged more, and were quite nasty about it on the phone and in writing.
I would NOT use them again.
