Radisson Hotel At Cross Keys

Not sure why this hotel has such low reviews. I thought they did a great job managing all of us from area TV stations during the blizzard. The food at their restaurant was great and for me the service was wonderful.
The only bad thing was the room I was in smelled like cigarette smoke — but I was too exhausted to care enough to tell someone.
Sandra at the front desk is amazing! She saw I was super exhausted and even though they didn’t have rooms ready she got me into one ASAP.
Also they are dog-​friendly. Didn’t bring my pup this time, but next time I will!

Ordered a King, got two Queens. The place looks rough, and well lived in, not what I expected from a Radisson. The staff was ok. Didn’t ask much and regretted the choice once I walked in the elevator. Rooms were spotless.

Worst guest service ever.
Rate confirmation of $ 50/​night from company reservation confirmation email was categorically denied by this location. Several other people in our group had same experience.
Managers said they could not comp a room, which would have brought the quoted rate to the wedding rate we had asked to book under.
Some people who complained got half off one night. Orhers got free drink tickets. No one got the rate quoted in their confirmation letter.
Don’t ever go to a Radisson unless you are willing to pay more than what they quote.

Oh dear. While this hotel seems to be so proud of their renovations, it appears as of Summer 2015 that they neglected quite a few aspects in the reno process. My fiancé and I were looking at a wedding venue in the area and this would have been the primary hotel for our guests. After our stay, it was blatantly clear that should we have our wedding nearby the Radisson fell way below our standards and we need to look elsewhere.
PROS: The only pros of the place are the staff and newly renovated rooms. The Sleep Number bed is a great touch. Overall the room was very nice aside from the comments below. Parking is great with both outdoors or covered options. That is if you can find it as their driveway isn’t exactly the easiest to find. They have a mini convenience store area next to the front desk which is always a plus should you need any amenities or food/​drink.
CONS: First off the elevators are terrible. Half of the lights don’t light up and several times we had to push the «open» button for the doors to even open. Room wise, our door wouldn’t close (obviously doors aren’t their forte) unless physically pushed very firmly… of course by my fiancé. So not good for those people who assume the door closes right behind them. Shortly after checking in we got some ice so we could pour some water into the glasses as it was super hot outside and we wanted some nice cold ice water. That idea was quickly ruined as there was ALREADY WATER in one of the glasses. Ewwww! Not the first thing you want to see when you walk into your hotel room. We were also missing the do not disturb sign. Typically we wouldn’t care but we wanted to sleep in, especially on the Sleep Number bed! Luckily we got one from the front desk as the hotel staff was a bit noisy outside early the following morning. The fitness room leaves much to be desired while the pool had caution tape along the edges. Definitely not something I’d want my future wedding guests from out of town to see! The trek to the pool was confusing. Once we figured out how to get to the pool the exterior spaces that take you to the pool are incredibly outdated. I felt like I was in a 70’s movie! Gross. Wi-​Fi might be free but it was on and off. Totally not reliable so don’t bet on that.
OVERALL: I applaud the Radisson for the upgrades and updates to the rooms. Mad props there as the rooms trump several of the major hotels I routinely stay at in downtown Baltimore. Still, you seriously need to fix literally everything else. My fiancé gives you a C– while I’d give a C. More specifically the pool area, common areas, gym, and elevators need major help. I have no idea why you were sold out for 3 weddings the weekend we stayed here. I’d be beyond embarrassed to have my friends and family stay here for my wedding. No offense to the fabulous staff but seriously if you’re going to fix something fix the whole package if you’re going to charge over $ 200!

If I ever had to chance to stay here again… I WOULDN’T & wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The beds were uncomfortable even though they were advertised as sleep number beds, the bathroom was so tiny that it barely fits 2 people to get ready, and the remote for the bed was disgusting. The interior in the lobby isn’t bad, but that’s about it. The checkin guy was ok, but kept having conversations with the other worker and it wasn’t professional. After leaving, a few days later we noticed a $ 100+ charge on our credit card statement. When we called to inquire about this mysterious charge, as we booked and payed in advance through Expedia, they had no record of us checking us and couldn’t even find our credit card on file to look up this charge. They had no idea what we were talking about cause they were INCOMPETENT. I’ll never stay at any Radisson again.

Highly recommended place to stay and dine. The atmosphere was pleasant, food was outstanding, and the mixologist was a true professional. There was also a shuttle service that we took advantage of. The new Horseshoe casino was 15 minutes away and we plan on retuning in May for the preakness Horserace, which, by the way is only 10 minutes away. The rooms are newly renovated and had a modern sleek look. Room service was exceptional.

I was surprised to see all the negative reviews of this hotel. The lobby area is beautiful, and the room is spacious and modern. It’s also incredibly clean. There’s a nice flat screen TV. I am not 100% sure about the Sleep Number bed yet, but I think it will be comfortable and there are lots of pillows on the bed. We would definitely stay here again.
EDIT: After sleeping, I’m editing my review. The Sleep Number bed did not seem to work with the remote, and it wasn’t comfortable. Kind of like sleeping on a futon. The sheets didn’t fit the bed well and were pulled off the mattress by morning. Radisson: ditch the Sleep Number beds!

We visited this hotel for the first time this past weekend while down for Hopkins Family weekend. I have to say I was less than impressed. For perspective, I’m not a super high-​end traveller (not that I wouldn’t LOVE that) — but our norm for family trips are Hampton Inn, Hyatt Place — clean, comfortable, budget friendly. I chose this location over the Hampton Inner Harbor — next time I’ll try the Hampton.
From the photos and description of this «recently renovated» hotel, I thought it would be in that league, but it fell short:
CONS:
1. Housekeeping: The white duvet/​comforter covers that you would think they replaced with each visitor were NOT clean. On arrival, I checked and saw immediately that both were stained, clearly by previous visitors. With one call to the front desk it was taken care of – but still — this should not happen with those white duvets covers. Toothpaste splash stains on the wallpaper (from previous guests) also should have been wiped off.
2. Beds were not good. This hotel website advertises «sleep number» beds. I know what that is because we have one, and I love it. Our room did NOT have a sleep number bed, and the old mattress was not very comfortable. When I asked about the sleep number beds, the front desk clerk was very honest and said that only SOME rooms have the sleep number beds — their website does NOT say this. Honestly, the sleep number bed is not why I booked this room — but I did have an expectation that the beds would be of a certain higher quality comfort — and they were definitely not.
3. Location of this hotel is off the B’more beaten path, and slightly hard to find b/​c signage is poor, in an upscale-​ish shopping center (Williams Sonoma, Talbots, Donna’s). The building itself is older, with longggg hallways that make some rooms quite a haul from the elevators. Despite the renovations (new carpets, wallpaper furnishings), our room –especially the bathroom– had a slightly grungy feel.
PLUS:
1. Free parking.

I was pretty bummed out by my latest experiences here.
1) Touting that they are oriented toward business travelers, this hotel has very poor, spotty wi-​fi. They were not able to fix it after multiple complaints.
2) Their «handicap» rooms range in actual accommodations. I’ve been in multiple rooms they call «handicap,» and they all have a range in door width, accessibility to the shower, etc.
3) Their faulty refrigerators (2) not only did not work but ruined expensive prescription medicine. There was not even an apology.
4) Management has been overwhelmingly rude lately about changing dates for reservations despite my being a regular customer here and being a Club Carlson member.

I enjoyed my stay here. I stayed in the junior suite for about $ 140/​night which is very reasonable considering the other hotels more intown in Baltimore. The décor was updated and there was a mini fridge and microwave. Also there were a couple of water bottles waiting for me in the room which was a nice touch. The older African American lady in the front desk was very nice with a calming demeanor. Only thing I did not like was being disturbed twice within 2 hours of entering my room. The first time, the lady knocked, did not wait for me to answer door and just walked in. I was very annoyed and she did not even apologize and instead told me I should have used the door stop. Also, the restaurant is very pricey but the food was good. I liked their bar and lobby sitting area as well. Parking is also easy. The hotel is a little hard to find when you fist arrive as it is in a complex.

The room was beautiful and huge-​somehow, we got a suite. We stayed for one night, we got in late. It’s pretty confusing to find the front desk-​maybe we were just super tired. The room was comfortable, and most importantly really clean. We were there for graduation weekend-​so we didn’t spend very much time in the hotel.

Don’t stay here! I only stayed here one night and didn’t have a great experience…
First off, five minutes after I walked into my room housekeeping walked right in with a master key to add more towels to the two I already had! Ummmm excuse me? Thank God I wasn’t getting busy yet… smh
Then they charged both my debit card and my credit card for my one night stay! When I first called to inquire about it, I was told that I wouldn’t be charged twice! Then a week later when I checked both my accounts they were indeed charged!!! Uhhhhh so annoying!

By pet «friendly», this hotel means your pet can stay here. If anyone complains or if there is audible noise/​barking etc. you will be harassed by staff multiple times a day until you check out, adding a lot of stress to your trip. On the flip side, if you require silence and don’t like dogs… you can be guaranteed your complaints will be heard. The housekeeping staff is stellar creating a clean environment but the beds were uncomfortable and the pet friendly status is in name only.

My husband and I stayed here for a quick night during travel. The staff is very pleasant, and they have definitely done some work here and there to modernize the place. I also enjoyed the shops at Cross Keys. All in all, a decent hotel in a nice location. Everything was clean, nothing special, but very clean.
My main complaint would be the bed in our room. It was so firm that it was uncomfortable. The bedding itself was fine, but the mattress was hard as a rock. A pillow top or more cushioned mattress pad would help a lot.
One of the nicest features of this hotel is the restaurant, Scoozi. We stopped in for a quick dinner, and I went again for breakfast while my husband was at a work meeting. Both meals were very good, and I would definitely go back.

Great room! Very spacious, with a comfy bed, nice lounge chair, clean bathroom, stylish desk/​chair and plenty of power outlets :)
The location is kind of strange, inside a small mall/​office complex, but it was easy to find and had available underground parking. I was staying here for an interview at Sinai Hospital, and had been told there was a free shuttle service, but it turns out the shuttle only ran once early in the morning…
The service was nice and they had available late check-​out for no extra charge :)
Overall, it was a comfy room. No minifridge/​microwave combo, but there was a hair dryer available. Currently undergoing some renovations on the 4^th floor, so some paint smell.

Came to this hotel for a one-​day seminar. The hotel was undergoing some much needed renovation (looks very dated). The room that my seminar was held in was on the mezzanine level, which only had one restroom for men and women to share. The room was okay, nothing fancy, but the tablecloths that were provided to us had rips /​holes in them. I ate at the restaurant downstairs. Ordered the grilled chicken casesar salad, where the chicken was extremely dry and tasteless and drenched in dressing, but the rest of the salad was okay. Also ordered a french onion soup, which I think they forgot about because I had to ask for it after they took my salad away. It was extremely hot and I burned my tongue :(Taste-​wise it was good though.

This hotel is fine – there is really nothing wrong with it. And I have to say, that their sleep number beds created some of the better nights of sleep I have had in a long time! Great advertisement for those beds :-)
Were the rooms the most updated? No, but everything was definitely fine. I would have liked an overhead light rather than having to turn on all of the little lamps and such, but really the room was fine overall – decent size, comfy bed, what else do you really need?
They have happy hour in their bar downstairs which I found myself hanging out at which was fun, but that was mainly because other than the little boutique shops here, if you don’t have a car, staying here means you are pretty much stuck at the hotel, since there isn’t really anything within a mile from the hotel. So make sure you have your laptop or ipad to use their free wifi! And definitely eat at the village square café next door to this place – you won’t regret it!

Needs updating. The sleep number beds are nice, but some of them don’t function properly or fully. The bathrooms definitely need renovated. The TV gets something like 18 channels, and everything else is pay-​per-​view. Wi-​fi is not free.
It wasn’t a luxury resort, but it was far from a dump. The little «village» it is located in is nice for out-​of-​towners. We ate lunch at the café next door, and there were a number of shops surrounding a little quad area. The housekeeping staff were incredibly nice, and the front desk was helpful in providing us with directions to an event we were attending.
I would probably try somewhere else if I was in the area again, but it wasn’t an unpleasant stay.

I stayed here for a business tip. The location was pretty strange, it was part of what looked like a gated mall. The staff were extremely friendly. The room itself was big, but the furniture was all pretty old, it looked like it had not been updated in a long time. I was not impressed by the sleep number bed, it felt like there was a board running down the middle of it.
For business purposes, it seemed like the shuttle ran somewhat randomly, the setup seemed to be to accommodate people who were in town to visit the hospitals. I was told they could not make it available for one of my trips, I shared a cab with another person and after the cab ride saw the shuttle roll up behind me at the destination.
But hey, cab fare wasn’t much, staff was great on the check in and check out, would have liked a bit more modern comfort for getting my work done. I would probably stay there again if I needed to be in this particular area of the city.

I check-​in Mothers Day and while it wasn’t the nicest looking place it was in a quiet setting. The inside smelled a little musty, but looked clean. My room was large and late that night I went to shower only to discover a dirty washcloth in my shower. I continued on!
Off to work the next day to return and find a note stating we apologize but we had a water pipe failure and are working to repair it, we will keep you informed. I went out to eat, returned and around 9 pm that evening called to see what the status was with the water.
The front desk said it would be on at NOON the following day, I said excuse me did you say tomorrow. Yes NOON tomorrow, so I asked what I should do about showering. He said that they could give me a couple of gallons of water for my room. (Not sure how that helps) I said that would not be acceptable, he said well you can go to a hotel where we made arrangements.
I asked when they decided to let me know and he said we left a message on your room phone, I stated I had no message and he said we left one for all guest. Now is he saying I lied? I guess he thought I would sit around until 9:30 just to give him a hard time. I said I was going to the other hotel and would be down.
The other hotel was Best Western an $ 89 dollar a night hotel and my room was costing $ 179, not a fair trade. Plus the hotel was miles away from where I needed to be. What I couldn’t figure out is how the water goes out before noon Monday and it takes until NOON Tuesday to fix.
Baltimore has plumbers. Just doesn’t seem the customer is that important to them. So today I checked out a day early and moved to another hotel. The funny thing is no one asked way I was leaving early.
