We specialize in art and handmade craft made by local artists and new artists to Baltimore. We showcase ceramics, metal work, jewelry, fine art, photography and functional home accessories. The Gallery Above is located upstars and features unique shows rotating throughout the year. We also hold yoga classes ranging from pre and postnatal, beginner yoga, yoga nidra, and more coming soon. The gallery is also available for meeting and party space.

History

Established in 1995.

Celebrating almost 20 years in fabulous Hampden! The shop began on the 800 block of the Avenue when the possibilities for Hampden were vast. We quickly established ourselves as the place to find unique decorative hardware and amazing art and fine craft. In 2006 we purchased the old Hampden House Bar and reworked it to create this most amazing spot. The Gallery Above is on the second floor. This space showcases fine art and photography and shifts the exhibits every two months. We also offer a variety of Yoga classes and workshops.

Business Owner

Carol began her retail career in collage and graduated with a textile marketing degree. After her beautiful babies were born, she worked at the Tomlinson Craft Collection, managing the shop for 5 years. After a short time working for Notes and Queries, a greeting card distribution company, she started her plan to create her own shop. Carol’s goal was to showcase artists that had not yet shown in Baltimore, creating space for local artists as well.
