Mr. Appliance Of Owings Mills

This is a perfect example of buyer beware. I found Mr. Appliance of Owings Mills online. I called to get information on having the ice maker in my freezer repaired. I was told a technician could be at my house the next day and would receive a return phone call later in the day to confirm a window of time once the day is planned out. Never received a call back. I had to call to get a time slot. Technician showed up following day on time, in fact he called to tell me he was on the way. When he arrived and entered my home he stunk from cigarette smoke, a turn off, however, I don’t know anything about appliance repair so I had to let him in. He looked at the ice maker and found what was the perceived problem and adjusted a hose then put the parts back together and the ice maker seemed to work correctly. That took no more than 5 minutes. It then took him over 25 minutes to complete the information on a tablet to determine the bill. Originally the bill was for over $ 200.00. When I complained about the value compared to the amount of time and no parts required he changed some of the entries and brought the price down to around $ 160.00. Still too high. He never gave me the opportunity to agree to the repair and receive an estimate that is highlighted on their marketing collateral. I called the office to speak to the owner and explained my concerns, he reduced the cost to a more reasonable $ 116.00. Then the real fun began. The next day the same problem happened with the ice maker. I called the office and left a message for the owner to return my call. He finally called later that day and said he would call the technician and get back in touch. The next afternoon the technician called. I asked if his work was guaranteed. He said no and that because I was given a discount I would have to pay again for any new repair. I asked him to have the owner call. When I did not hear from the owner I sent an email asking for a call. No reply to email and no phone call and NO ICE!!! What an awful experience. I strongly recommend never to use this company.

I called to set up a repair and due to an inflexible work schedule stressed the importance of a first morning appointment. In order to get this I had to wait several days which I was fine with. I made arrangements with work and moved all meetings to the afternoon. Around 4 p.m. the day before I got an email stating that when they made the schedule giving me a morning appointment did not work so they would be at my house between 1 and 4. Did not honor their commitment. No notice. Waited extra days for service to get none. DO NOT RECOMMEND. DO NOT HONOR THEIR WORD!

It is my pleasure to write this review of Mr. Appliance. I hired them to clean my dryer vent since it had not been done in 10 years. When the tech arrived he discovered that my dryer was in a challenging part of the house and he was concerned about rolling the machine they use over my tile in my kitchen. Instead of running the risk of damaging my floor he asked if they could reschedule (at my convenience) so that he could bring the owner back to help him. Of course I agreed. They did come back, on time and the date that I requested, and they carried this big machine to my dryer. I was amazed by the customer service and the thought around this issue. He could have just rolled it and hoped for the best. Instead he thought about what might happen. I really appreciate it and will recommend Mr. Appliance to all of my friends for their appliance repair and dryer vent cleaning needs.

Awful. Waited over a month for repairs, parts, etc only to have them misquote the issue. They said it would be twice as much to fix because of another part they didn’t see before. Within that time I could have purchased a new appliance! The technician was pleasant to work with, the manager/​owner was not.
