Monave handcrafts vegan, gluten-​free cosmetics, with a focus on quality, and purity. All products are made in house, and if you stop by any afternoon, you can watch your makeup being made. We have shades for every complexion so If you have had trouble finding your ‘perfect match’ in a foundation, we very well might have one for you.

We offer everything a traditional makeup line offers, including lipsticks, eyeliners, concealers, blushes, bronzers, foundation powders, cream and liquid foundations, glosses, and skincare. We just leave out the harsh chemicals, fragrances, and preservatives. Our skincare is simple, and either non-​fragranced, or enhanced with essential oils.

History

Established in 2000.

Monave has been operating out of Baltimore MD, in both the Harbor pavilions as well as main street in Fells Point, for the last fifteen years. This award winning line is available to the public as well as to spas, health food stores, and salons, interested in introducing a top quality natural makeup to their customers.

Meet the Business Owner

Business Owner

Deborah Bilezikian (aka Teporah) founded Monave in 2000, out of a need to provide natural cosmetics as an alternative to the poor quality, toxic lines dominating the industry. A huge animal rights advocate, Teporah has spent years creating a line that is primarily vegan, and was one of the original singers of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics.

A makeup artist, mom and environmentalist, Teporah manifests her love for her diverse city with a line that is inclusive, in counterpoint to the traditional penchant for excluding women of color. Her line is a reflection of her commitment to understanding color, and beauty and their roles in every woman’s life.

Teporah is a mother of two teenage boys, and thrives on teaching other women how to operate a natural products business while raising a family. She believes in the innate power of women to become the world’s great entrepreneurs, and looks for any opportunity to help make that happen.
